Samantha’s College Qualifications

I overcame a 5% acceptance rate to the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business as a community college transfer. Since my own admittance, I have been deeply involved in helping several transfer students make their own jump to a 4 year university. I have expertise in helping students craft a compelling personal narrative and package together an application that will catch the eye of an admissions team. I also came from a single mother background, and finding scholarships to supplement my financial aid was crucial for me to attend univeristy. I can share my tips and tricks for securing over $20k in independent scholarships, from the sourcing process to the actual application (which often includes an essay).

About Samantha

I am one of the few community college students that have ever received an offer from MBB. Within a year of learning what consulting even is, I interned at ZS Associates, interviewed at 4 different top consulting firms, and accepted an offer from McKinsey. I spent about 2 years there as a business analyst before pivoting into product marketing, but I still help many students break into consulting. Some of my previous mentees have gone on to work for BCG, Bain, McKinsey, Mercer, Accenture, EY Parthenon... to name a few. My areas of expertise include the consulting bread and butter (casing, resume revision), but I also arm students with the skills they need to craft memorable stories during the behavioral interview.

Why do I coach?

I relied heavily on my own coach to make my career aspirations come true. I had a huge uphill battle to achieve my goal of getting an offer from MBB as a community college transfer, and having someone believe in me made all the difference. Now I love to pass on that same support and encouragement to people in the same position I was. Nothing feels better than watching someone you’ve invested so much time into get the call with an offer - it makes all the sacrifice and time worth it!
