About Robert
Rob Hailey – Professional Certified Coach Senior Administrator Emeritus, Tulane University · Adjunct Professor of Marketing, Freeman School of Business Most people don’t leave a coaching engagement with a vague sense of having reflected. They leave with a new job, a clearer leadership identity, a plan they actually follow, and a professional network that opens doors. That’s what Rob Hailey builds. WHAT CLIENTS GAIN Clients who work with Rob typically leave with: • A concrete career plan — with a clear next step and the confidence to take it • A personalized networking strategy and, where appropriate, direct introductions from Rob's own professional network built over 40+ years • A deeper understanding of how others experience them — and how to leverage that strategically • New opportunities they never would have considered on their own • Leadership skills that stick, developed through targeted exercises, curated reading, and structured reflection between sessions “His advice was truly catered to me as a person, instead of pushing me down the “best” path. I ended up in a job that I love and never would’ve previously considered.” — Jane Kreshek, Business Development Coordinator, Millennium Investment Management WHO ROB COACHES Rob works with emerging and mid-level professionals who are ready for more — more clarity, more responsibility, more opportunity — and who want a structured, relationship-driven path to get there. His focus areas include: • Career development and transitions: moving into a new role, industry, or level of responsibility • Professional network building: growing a network with intention, not just size • Leadership development for emerging and mid-level managers • College-to-career transitions: helping new professionals land roles and thrive in their first year HOW IT WORKS Rob’s coaching runs on two parallel tracks, both oriented toward outcomes: Track 1 — Building Self-Knowledge Through targeted questions, focused individual assessment and structured exercises, clients develop a clear, evidence-based picture of what they bring and how others experience them. This self-knowledge becomes the foundation for every strategic move that follows. Track 2 — Expanding Opportunity Every client receives a networking plan built around their specific goals. Where appropriate, Rob makes direct introductions from his own network — accumulated across four decades and numerous projects and engagements. His conviction, backed by 40 years of watching careers develop, is straightforward: most meaningful opportunities come through people, not postings. Between sessions, Rob assigns curated articles tied to each client’s goals. When clients return, they reflect on what they read — a practice that deepens insight and builds habits that outlast the engagement. Most programs unfold across six or more one-hour sessions over four to five months, with a structured mid-point review to recalibrate goals. THE EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE COACHING Rob spent 31 years as a senior administrator at Tulane University, finishing as Executive Director of the Tulane University Leadership Institute (TULI). He led the Emerging Leaders Program and Intercultural Leaders Program, built an internal coaching culture, and managed operations ranging from a $22M+ budget and 400+ employees to international executive MBA programs across Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Taiwan, and China. When Hurricane Katrina struck, Rob was Tulane’s Associate Vice President of Student Affairs and Interim Director of Housing. He helped close the campus, coordinated the transport of students to Jackson, Mississippi, and returned in the second wave of staff to reopen operations — including managing a cruise ship docked on the Mississippi River to house faculty, staff, and students. That year — and three decades of watching careers unfold — produced a coach who coaches from lived experience, not theory. “In the professional world, we often talk about the importance of networking, both during the college years and throughout a career. For many, it is just a superficial topic of conversation; mentioning it feels like checking a box for self-satisfaction. For Rob, however, it is his "why." His approach is always intentional, yet entirely genuine and organic. For any professional, young or experienced, looking to navigate their path with purpose, to work with Rob is to gain a mentor who stays in your corner long after the first meeting ends.” — Kenny Welcome, President and CEO CREDENTIALS • International Coaching Federation Professional Certified Coach (PCC) • Center for Executive Coaching — Level 2 Certified Executive Coach (CEC) • Vice President / President-Elect, ICF Gulf Coast Chapter • MBA, Tulane University, A.B. Freeman School of Business • MS, Sports Administration, University of Southern Mississippi • BS, Education, Baylor University • Graduate, Management and Leadership in Education, Harvard School of Education RCH Consulting · rchconsulting.org · [email protected]
