Welcome to my profile! With over a decade of experience in standardized test preparation, I specialize in helping students excel in the ACT. As a former SAT/ACT tutor with The Princeton Review, I have honed my skills in guiding students to achieve their target scores. I achieved a perfect score, and also use the lessons I learned during my own prep to guide and support students on their journeys. My approach is tailored to each student's unique needs, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident on test day. About Rebekah
I've helped students prepare for standardized exams for over 16 years , and more than anything I've learned how to create strategies that work for each student individually. I have learned how to expand my work from the average strategies into integrating them into the overall student that optimize their strengths and are relevant to their lives. I remember learning about the "plum pudding" model of the atom and wondering why it was relevant. I had never heard of plum pudding, so not only was I learning about the atom, but I was also trying to understand what it had to do with plum pudding in the first place. Then I heard someone describe it as a "chocolate chip cookie", and I realized how helpful analogies could be when they are relevant to the individual, but also how unhelpful they can be when they aren't relevant. I try to make learning MCAT content fun and familiar, and emphasize helping students learn strategies that work for them as individuals.
Why do I coach?
I coach becuase I wish I would have had a coaach like me to support me throguh my MCAT and medical school journey. I enjoy learning about each of my students' backgrounds and their own journeys, and find it fulfilling to help guide students through a process that I understand deeply but that can be so challenging and isolating. I also genuinely find MCAT content interesting, and love the process of learning new material to keep myself up-to-date with what I am teaching.
