Rachel’s Management Consulting Qualifications
Experience level: Consultant
20+ people coached for Management Consulting
As a former BCG Associate recruiting specialist, I bring expertise in how candidates are evaluated even before getting the officia; interview invite and how you can position yourself to be identified as a high-potential candidate. Beyond my BCG client work, I was deeply involved in undergraduate recruiting for the BCG SF office, running official case interview workshops, mock interviews, and info sessions for prospective candidates. I know exactly how cases are graded and what rubrics interviewers use to evaluate talent (I was often tasked with evaluating candidates before handing off to our HR team for interview invites)—insights I now pass along to my coaching clients. I bring firsthand experience from three years as a management consultant at BCG’s San Francisco office, where I focused on healthcare strategy and private equity due diligence. Over the years, I’ve successfully coached many candidates to break into BCG, McKinsey, and Bain. My approach combines knowledge of the recruiting process with tailored feedback to help you sharpen your problem-solving, structure your communication, and build the confidence to excel on interview day. I can also help you prep to present your best self in informal consulting networking setting (e.g., coffee chats, workshops etc.) since these events can make or break your chances of landing an interview! I’m also happy to share candid insights about my own experience at BCG and what life as a consultant is really like.

About Rachel
I help ambitious professionals and students craft a clear path to their dream careers. My journey started in chemistry at UC Berkeley before I pivoted to management consulting at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). There, I applied the same analytical, problem-solving skills I honed in the lab to complex business challenges in biopharma and healthcare. Along the way, I was accepted into top deferred MBA programs, including Stanford GSB, Harvard Business School, Wharton, and MIT Sloan. I know exactly what it takes to navigate the competitive world of consulting and top-tier MBA admissions because I've done it myself. Now, as an MBA student at Stanford, I'm passionate about coaching others to achieve similar goals. Whether you're aiming for a role at BCG or a spot at a top MBA program, I can help you: 1. Strategically frame your unique story to stand out from the crowd. 2. Break down complex case interviews and essay prompts. 3. Build a roadmap that transforms your ambition into reality. Let's work together!
Why do I coach?
I coach because I want to give back and help others achieve their ambitious goals. My own path, from studying chemistry at UC Berkeley to management consulting at BCG, and now to Stanford GSB, was shaped by mentors who believed in me and offered invaluable guidance. I know firsthand how daunting career pivots can be, especially when shifting from a science or engineering background into consulting or business. Having gone through that transition myself, I’ve helped many others navigate it too-whether breaking into top consulting firms like McKinsey and BCG, or gaining admission to leading MBA programs such as Stanford GSB and Harvard Business School. For me, coaching isn’t just about sharing insights, it’s about helping people recognize their own potential, navigate uncertainty with confidence, and build a strategy that makes bold pivots possible. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone overcome the same challenges I once faced and create a future that feels both authentic and ambitious.
