About Priscilla

Hi! I am a first-generation college graduate who attended UC Berkeley, where I majored in Sociology with a minor in Journalism. During college, I worked part-time as a tutor and mentor for high school students. Currently, I serve as a College Affordability Advisor at two high schools in San Francisco. Through my role, I participate in college events for students and SFUSD initiatives, providing valuable insight into what colleges seek and require. As the eldest in my family, I have also guided my siblings in their college and job searches, helping them explore opportunities and navigate their paths. As a self-starter, I know what it takes to put in the extra effort for interviews, finding jobs, and understanding what companies look for. I was also part of SEO Scholars, a college prep program that connected me with people from all over the country and helped me network. I have a solid understanding of what is needed for college and jobs.

Why do I coach?

I want to be able to coach students to reach their goals. As a first-generation student who received significant support from programs and mentors, I have been able to secure the jobs I wanted. I currently work at a nonprofit helping students with college affordability and college applications. Not only have I been trained through the program, but I am also connected to employees at various schools in the Bay Area, as they often visit schools to share insights. This has helped me understand what each school is looking for and stay informed about events. I am also advocating for creating pathways for students of color to attend college and receive the extra help they might need. I am committed to helping anyone in need of college and job advice.
