Paul’s Product Marketing Qualifications
Coaches professionally
Experience level: Director
I help accomplished professionals build the skills, credibility, and career story to move into product marketing and succeed once they are there. I made the transition myself after building an established career in entertainment and consumer marketing, then progressed from career switcher to Director of Product Marketing within six years. Along the way, I worked across enterprise technology companies and an early-stage startup, launching generative AI products, repositioning B2B SaaS offerings, leading go-to-market strategy, developing messaging and sales narratives, enabling Sales and Customer Success teams, and helping build product marketing capabilities from the ground up. That range has shown me how the role changes across company stages and what it takes to earn credibility before you have the expected PMM title. Together, we can identify which parts of your experience genuinely translate to product marketing, close the gaps that matter, and present your value clearly across your résumé, LinkedIn profile, interviews, portfolio, and real-world work. For newer or accidental PMMs, that can also mean clarifying the role, setting priorities, and building the confidence to succeed on the job.

About Paul
Two career changes defined my path into product marketing: entertainment and consumer marketing to B2B tech, and project management to PMM. I wanted to move beyond managing execution and help shape strategy, positioning, launches, and adoption. I knew I needed new skills to make that pivot, so I went back for an MBA at UCLA Anderson and built the business and marketing foundation to take the next step. Breaking into PMM still meant translating my experience, filling the gaps, and competing with candidates who already had the title. Once I got in, I learned quickly, delivered results across established tech companies, early and late stage startups, and earned broader strategic responsibility. Six years later, I became a Director of Product Marketing. That transition now shapes how I help accomplished professionals build a credible case as PMM candidates, close the skill and knowledge gaps that could hold them back, and compete effectively in a crowded tech job market.
Why do I coach?
People were seeking my guidance long before this profile existed. I understood what they were looking for because I had needed it myself: an experienced outside perspective to help me see what genuinely transferred, what I still needed to learn, and where to focus my effort. Because I made the move into product marketing only six years ago and advanced to Director, I know what it takes to earn the first opportunity, prove yourself, and keep advancing. I coach to help accomplished professionals get from where where they are today to the product marketing career they've been working toward. If you are trying to bridge that same gap, let’s identify what is holding you back and build a plan to overcome it.
