Why do I coach?
I’m Neeve - I am an Irish woman whose early career began without any roadmap into the business world. At the time, there wasn’t a single person in my family, extended network, or circle of friends working in business. I had no real reference point and often felt a bit of a fraud or I was there because of luck. Everything I learned, I learned by stepping forward, taking risks, and figuring things out along the way. What I did have was drive, resilience, and a deep sense that if someone underestimated me or suggested something wasn’t possible, I would quietly go all in to prove that it was. I had strong emotional intelligence and a genuine desire to make a difference. Yet, like many high-achieving professionals, I often felt I was winging it. Imposter syndrome would appear more often than I cared to admit. Looking back, I simply wish I’d had someone to talk to- someone who could have listened to me and reassured me that what I was experiencing was completely normal. That growth in a career often comes with uncertainty, self-doubt, and learning in real time. It wasn’t until well into my own career that I experienced coaching for the first time. I still remember the feeling of safety in that space - the freedom to say what I was truly thinking and feeling while working through a challenging situation. I left those conversations feeling empowered, inspired, and able to show up as my authentic self. That experience ignited a deep passion in me for the transformative power of coaching. In many ways, coaching had already been part of my work for years through my role as a Human Resources Business Partner. I saw, time and again, how people - at every level of an organisation - respond when they feel genuinely listened to. When they have a safe space to explore ideas, challenge assumptions, and consider new perspectives. When they begin to recognise that often it isn’t capability holding them back, but the thoughts and beliefs that keep them playing small. And when that shift happens - when someone truly sees their own potential - something powerful unfolds. They step into who they want to be, they pursue what they want to do, and they create the life and career they want to have. Witnessing that transformation is not just rewarding - it is a privilege.
