About Meghan
Since graduating from Williams College in 2007, I have built a career spanning admissions, counseling, personal development, and psychotherapy. I worked as an admissions officer at Harvard, taught at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and served as a residential advisor with Summerfuel @ Oxford University. Over nine admissions cycles, I have directly advised students navigating the U.S. university application process through both private consulting and nonprofit work. As a second-career therapist with a deep interest in human behavior and psychology, I have also written and taught curriculum for tens of thousands of students globally, focusing on the character and personal development skills that support success in holistic admissions processes. Today, I bring together my experience reading applications, advising students, and working as a therapist to help students craft thoughtful, compelling applications while also using the process as an opportunity for meaningful self-reflection and growth.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I believe the college application process can be far more meaningful than most students realize. During my time as an admissions officer at Harvard, I read thousands of applications from extraordinary students around the world. What stood out most were not simply the highest test scores or the longest activity lists, but students who had developed a clear sense of who they were, what they cared about, and how they engaged with the world. At the same time, I saw how stressful and confusing the process can feel for students and families. Many students believe they need to “perform” or mold themselves into what they think colleges want. In reality, the strongest applications come from students who learn how to articulate their genuine interests, growth, and character. Students who have a strong sense of self and who can communicate that elegantly. My work today combines my admissions experience with my background in counseling and psychotherapy. I help students not only build strong applications, but also use this process as an opportunity to better understand themselves: their values, their motivations, and the impact they want to have in the world. When students approach the application process from that place of clarity and authenticity, the results are often both more compelling to admissions committees and more meaningful for the student themselves. My goal is to help students create applications that are thoughtful, authentic, and strategically strong, while also helping them grow as people along the way.
