About Mark
I've never taken the conventional path — and that's exactly why I'm good at helping others navigate theirs. After eight years as an Army officer, I left the military in 2019, earned my MBA at Darden, co-founded an HR tech startup that failed, and spent two years as a self-funded searcher without closing an acquisition. Each of those experiences taught me something no playbook could: how to make high-stakes decisions with imperfect information, and how to rebuild when the plan falls apart. Today, I run an executive recruiting and talent advisory practice focused on mission-critical industries — data centers, defense, energy, and manufacturing. It's work I love because it sits at the intersection of strategy and people. But coaching is where the real passion lives. I work with high-performing professionals earning $200k+ who are weighing career pivots into PE-backed operations roles, negotiating equity and compensation at SMBs, or simply trying to figure out what's next. If you're the kind of person who takes your career as seriously as your craft, let's talk.
Why do I coach?
I coach because careers are messy — and nobody makes their best decisions in a vacuum. There's no perfect answer to "what should I do next?" If there were, you wouldn't need a coach. What there is: a tangle of competing priorities, incomplete information, financial risk, family considerations, ego, ambition, and timing. I've sat in that exact seat — leaving the military with no corporate playbook, betting on a startup that didn't work out, walking away from a two-year search without an acquisition. Every one of those decisions was messy. And every one of them shaped a career I'm genuinely proud of. I coach because I know what it's like to weigh a decision where the spreadsheet doesn't give you a clean answer. I'm not here to hand you a formula. I'm here to help you think clearly about the risks and rewards, pressure-test your assumptions, and move forward with confidence — even when the path isn't obvious.
