As the head of data engineering for Facebook Groups and Emerging Verticals, I spearheaded initiatives empowering analytics and product teams to solve critical business needs, leveraging self-service capabilities. My leadership was instrumental in constructing robust data models, enforcing data governance and quality standards, developing actionable insights, and executive dashboards using internal tools and Tableau. One of my key accomplishments was conceptualizing and leading the overhaul of data architecture and migration projects, facilitating a seamless transition from Facebook Communities to Groups. Led Data Engineers to support Emerging Verticals including Dating, Events, Games, & Fantasy Games. In collaboration with the marketing organization, I worked closely with the CMO and DE leadership teams to establish a dedicated Data Engineering team, laying the foundation for various impactful initiatives such as News Cycle Insights, Social Marketing Measurement, and User Journey analysis throughout the app. Within the Enterprise Product organization, I led teams in crafting supply chain analytics and optimizing infrastructure projects. By analyzing Telco usage data, we informed contract negotiations, resulting in a significant reduction in overall Telco expenses. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in mentoring multiple managers and senior ICs, fostering career development plans that led to promotions and enhanced performance ratings across the team. As an organizational leader, I championed numerous initiatives aimed at system enhancements.
