She is the founder and director of AnotherDegree.com, where she leads classes, develops curriculum and research programs, and personally mentors clients in graduate school admissions, research and dissertation coaching, and navigating academic and alt-ac career tracks. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys sunny days, road trips, podcasts, dogs, and breakfast sandwiches. She is a lifelong night owl who tends to do most of her writing late at night.

Hiring Manager
I founded Another Degree, a global mentorship platform that supports graduate and professional school admissions, academic research and writing, and early‑career development. I built the platform end‑to‑end — recruiting and onboarding 30+ mentors across academia, industry, policy, and public scholarship; designing intake systems, CRM workflows, and automated operations to scale mentorship delivery and partnerships; and leading vendor selection, legal structuring, and platform positioning in a complex regulatory landscape. I also drive strategic collaboration with higher‑education institutions, industry partners, and non‑profits, while directing content production across social media, newsletters, blogs, and targeted marketing. I evaluate performance metrics to strengthen brand recognition and expand both client and institutional outreach.

Academic Administrator
UCLA
April 2016 - July 2025
Admissions Committee
In my dual role as a faculty member and academic administrator at UCLA, I directed multiple high‑impact undergraduate research programs serving thousands of UCLA and visiting students preparing for graduate and professional school pathways. I managed, trained, and hired staff to ensure strong program delivery and continuous improvement, and collaborated with academic departments and student‑services units on curriculum innovation, logistics, budgeting, outreach, advising, faculty engagement, and donor stewardship. I oversaw selection committees, evaluation rubrics, budgets, contracts, scholarship disbursement, data collection, assessment, reporting, compliance, and stewardship, and served on multiple committees for prestigious awards and practice interviews. I founded Research Revealed, the Center’s highest‑demand pipeline program, and launched its first alumni network to support mentorship, career panels, events, fundraising, and outcomes research. I also co‑authored peer‑reviewed studies on student development, designed and taught upper‑division courses on scholarly and professional development, and represented UCLA in campus‑wide presentations and national advocacy efforts. In partnership with communications and fundraising teams, I coordinated high‑profile events, award ceremonies, and conferences, and was honored with a 2024 Faculty Mentor Award.
