About Karina

I'm a former Product Manager at Microsoft, a Yale School of Management MBA graduate, former McKinsey Summer Associate, and founder of KarinaJ Denim. Launching my own company has given me an entirely new perspective on business strategy. From designing products and sourcing manufacturers to pricing, operations, marketing, and launching a brand that generated over $16,000 in sales during its first 10 days, I've experienced firsthand the types of ambiguous business problems that consulting interviews try to simulate. I've also gone through recruiting across consulting, tech, investment banking, and MBA admissions myself. I know how overwhelming these processes can feel because I've been on both sides—as the candidate and now as the coach. Whether you're pursuing consulting, product management, tech, or business school, my goal is to help you build not only the skills to earn an offer, but also the confidence to perform at your best.

Why do I coach?

Coaching matters deeply to me because I know what it feels like to struggle and feel stuck. When I first started casing, I had a ton of anxiety—I would freeze, convinced there was some hidden “key” to cracking the case that I just couldn’t unlock. No matter how much I practiced, I felt like I was chasing what interviewers wanted to hear instead of truly engaging with the problem. Then I had an epiphany. I realized that casing wasn’t about memorizing the “right” answer—it was about shifting my mindset. The moment I stopped trying to force myself into someone else’s framework and instead focused on what I genuinely wanted to understand and how I would actually solve the problem, everything clicked. My confidence grew, my performance improved, and casing stopped being something I feared and became something I enjoyed. That transformation is why I’m passionate about coaching. I know firsthand how discouraging it feels to think you’re not “getting it,” and I also know how powerful it is to unlock the right perspective. I want to help others make that same shift—so they don’t just get better at casing, but also discover a way of thinking that builds confidence far beyond the interview room. I've coached more than 20 candidates and developed my own structured case framework that teaches candidates how to think through virtually any business problem rather than memorize endless frameworks. It's a system that consistently helps candidates become more confident, more structured, and far more adaptable during interviews. Professionally, I've worked as a Product Manager at Microsoft, completed my MBA at Yale School of Management, interned at McKinsey, and now run my own consumer products company. After launching my brand, I generated over $16,000 in sales within the first 10 days, giving me firsthand experience solving real business problems—not just hypothetical ones. Whether you're preparing for your first case interview or trying to earn an MBB offer, my goal isn't just to help you pass interviews. It's to fundamentally change the way you approach business problems so you leave every session thinking more clearly, communicating more confidently, and performing better under pressure.
