About Joy
For over two decades, I have guided my clients to gain admission to their dream programs, including Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, and more. My experience can help you to navigate the MBA admissions process, from creating a winning narrative out of the many moments of your life, through building the career strategy that's right for you, to tackling every aspect of the application process - together. Time and again, what I see clients need most is to understand how to differentiate themselves from the rest of the applicant pool. That's where my background as a journalist, marketing professional and award-winning creative writer comes in. Together, we'll discover the best possible way to bring your unique qualities and potential to light. Whether you are applying to full-time, executive MBA, or dual-degree programs, or any other graduate degree, I'm here to be your partner and to help you submit an outstanding MBA application.
Why do I coach?
Over the past 20 years, some of the greatest moments in my life have happened while coaching. There is truly nothing that compares with helping someone to find what drives them to do what they do. Or to understand what they truly want to do in life. Or to see how all the pieces of their life actually come together and make total sense. My clients come to me with a story. Sometimes, it's a diamond in the rough. At other times, it's bits and pieces, a jigsaw puzzle full of pieces that if they could somehow assemble, they know would tell the story of their life. We both know it's there. Together, teasing out that narrative, and then finding the best way to put it down in words so that anyone reading it will understand the applicant, their dreams and motivations, and how they’ve become who they are today – well, those moments are worth everything.
Work Experience

Sr. Consultant
Menlo Coaching
April 2022 - Present
Serving as an MBA Admissions Consultant since 2005, I have seen the admissions landscape change drastically. One thing however has remained constant: the amazing caliber of professionals I get to work with on a daily basis. I'm proud to have helped so many dedicated, innovative, and goal-oriented people throughout my tenure, and to have had the chance to share a pivotal moment in their lives, helping them to realize their dreams. With so much riding on business school applications, it’s important to have an experienced and invested coach by your side. I see myself as more than a service provider: I am a partner in your application journey. I understand the challenges and pitfalls of MBA admissions, and work tirelessly to help my clients successfully navigate the process. Often what determines acceptance or rejection to an MBA program is one’s ability to differentiate oneself. I work in a holistic manner, leveraging my experience as a professional journalist and award-winning creative writer to identify what is important in any story. I then coach my clients to express their truth in a way that will captivate the admissions committee. In that process, as we identify, shape, and hone the client's best and most significant stories, we often reveal a thematic narrative thread that even the applicant was not aware ran through their life.
