Joseph’s Product Management Qualifications
Experience level: Chief Product Officer
60+ people coached for Product Management
I’m a senior product leader with 12+ years in tech and 8+ years as a PM, having built and scaled products at Google, LinkedIn, and Lyft, and as Co-Founder & CPO of a venture-backed startup, where I raised ~$1.8M and owned everything from product strategy and UX to metrics and go-to-market. I coach PMs on the fundamentals of strong product execution and interviewing, including how to break down ambiguous problems, develop clear product strategies, design scalable systems, define meaningful north-star and guardrail metrics, and communicate decisions with clarity and confidence. I also help candidates understand how to signal expertise throughout the interview by using the right language at the right moments. I’ve led 0→1 launches, platform products, and multi-team initiatives at global scale, and I bring that same rigor to interview prep, helping candidates avoid common PM traps and deliver confident, structured answers in high-stakes interview loops. My coaching is hands-on, direct, and tailored to each candidate’s level and target companies. My frameworks and strategies have helped people (including myself) land PM offers at Google, LinkedIn, Atlassian, Meta (Facebook), and more.

About Joseph
I’m a product leader with a strong technical foundation and a creative streak. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer engineering from the University of Florida and Georgia Institute of Technology, and later added an MBA from UC Berkeley, which gave me both the engineering rigor and business perspective I bring to my work. Outside of product, I’m an avid baker and proudly answer to the nickname “Cheesecake Joe,” a fantasy football world champion (the world being my league, but still), and usually either working out or convincing myself I should be. I’m also deeply committed to giving back and regularly volunteer with 6th–8th graders, helping them build personal and professional skills early on. I enjoy writing and sharing what I’ve learned along the way, which led me to create The P-Zero PM (https://www.thepzeropm.com ), a blog where I share practical tips and tools to help aspiring and early-career product managers start strong and grow with confidence.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I genuinely enjoy helping people unlock opportunities that once felt out of reach. Early in my career, I had to figure out interview prep, resume positioning, and career strategy largely on my own, and I know how much faster and less stressful that journey can be with the right guidance. Over time, I realized I’m effective at breaking down complex expectations, identifying where candidates get stuck, and helping them show up more clearly and confidently, which often translates into stronger interviews and better outcomes. Most importantly, I get real fulfillment from seeing people win in their careers and knowing I played a small part in helping them get there.
