About Jonathan
I am a sports business professional with over 18+ years of experience across the industry, including roles at Mumbai City FC, City Football Group, NBA, and positions in stadium operations, athlete management, commercial partnerships, and large-scale event delivery. Having worked on both the execution and leadership sides of the business - from grassroots programs and match-day operations to content strategy and club management - I help ambitious professionals, athletes, and career-switchers navigate the sports industry with practical clarity, realistic guidance, and actionable direction based on real experience rather than theory.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I know how difficult it can be to break into or progress within the sports industry without clear direction. Much of my own career was shaped by learning on the job, navigating unclear pathways, and figuring things out through experience rather than structured guidance. Now, after nearly two decades across clubs, leagues, agencies, operations, and commercial roles, I want to make that journey clearer and more efficient for others. Helping ambitious professionals, athletes, and career-switchers gain practical clarity and avoid common blind spots is something I find genuinely meaningful.

Responsible for servicing the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) activities in India at a senior level. I co-led and executed all NBA events in India since the league’s inception, ranging from grassroots talent identification programmes such as the Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA to major entertainment activations like NBA 3X presented by Sprite. Coordinated with government sports bodies including the Basketball Federation of India and PSA for both international and domestic events, and played a key role in scaling the Mahindra NBA Challenge from 3 to 5 cities and 3,600 to 6,000 players through full-cycle event management - including conceptualisation, government liaison, marketing, participant recruitment and registration, and budgeting.
