About Joel
As the principal of JoelSchwartzberg.net, I coach teams and individuals to identify, sharpen, and champion their most essential points and make their words matter. This training is unique and critical, as many communicators often confuse valuable points with far less potent topics, themes, observations, titles, and definitions—rendering themselves pointless. My clients include Synchrony Bank, Meta, American Express, the Brennan Center for Justice, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Neurocrine Biosciences, State Farm Insurance, Devo Technology, and the American Jewish Committee. From 2013 to 2024, I served as Senior Director of Executive and Strategic Communications for a major national nonprofit and have held senior communications roles with Nickelodeon, PBS, and Time Inc. I authored the bestseller "Get to the Point! Simplify, Sharpen, and Sell Your Message" and "The Language of Leadership: How to Engage and Inspire Your Team" and contribute frequently to Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, Newsweek, and Inc. A former collegiate state and national champion public speaker inducted into the National Forensic Association Hall of Fame, I've delivered presentations at conferences hosted by the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, as well as industry events including the Ragan Speechwriters Conference, the ALI Leadership & Executive Communication Conference, the Professional Women in Advocacy Conference, The Conference Board’s Corporate Communications Conference, and the World Conference of the Professional Speechwriters Association. Learn more about me—including my speaker reel, books, published articles, and podcast appearances—at my website, JoelSchwartzberg.net.
Why do I coach?
From within organizations and as an invited trainer, I've seen clear, purposeful communication open doors, and vague, directionless communication close them. I help professionals at any level and in any industry get to the point and make their words matter when their influence matters most.
