About Jennifer
Hi there! My name is Jen. In my undergraduate career, I received support from national and state college access programs (e.g. QuestBridge), and as a way to pay it forward, I was brought back to mentor students as they pursued their professional and academic goals. Through these organizations, I met with students 1:1, discussed their applications in detail, provided feedback, and more. This experience was my first exposure to advising/coaching, and it inspired me to continue down this path. Upon graduation, I applied to work in the undergraduate admissions office at Georgetown. I read applications for the College (now called the College of Arts and Sciences) for one year, gaining valuable experience regarding the priorities, thought processes, and decision-making within undergraduate admissions. Then, I transferred internally to the Georgetown University School of Medicine where I read for one year. Soon, I realized that I preferred the 1:1 interactions I had with students and their families while coaching for QuestBridge. Since 2021, I have working independently and guiding students to some of the most elite, prestigious universities in our country. It has been a wild ride, but after being a tutor/coach for six years, I can honestly say that working with my students has been the honor of a lifetime.
Why do I coach?
Every student has a unique story, and my goal is to help craft essays that showcase their strengths, character, and passions—leaving admissions readers inspired and wanting more. For medical, law, and graduate school applications, understanding your “why” is essential. Throughout the writing and editing process, I guide students in considering how their organization, word choice, tone, voice, and style enhance their narrative. For undergraduate admissions, the approach is similar, but with a focus on self-discovery: who am I, what matters to me, and how have my experiences shaped me? Above all, I am committed to creating a supportive environment where students can explore their academic and extracurricular interests while confidently preparing for the next phase of their educational journey.
