About Jed

I studied Finance at Brigham Young University in the Marriott School of Management. After my Junior year, I interned with Intuit in FP&A and received a full-time offer to come back. I started full-time in May 2016 in FP&A, forecasting revenue for various offerings in the QuickBooks franchise. After a few years, I realized that I was more drawn to growth strategy and wanted to get closer to our customer and our product. I began to have conversations with my leaders and other teams and was invited to join an internal strategy team. I spent 3 years working as an internal consultant on how to grow components of the QuickBooks business. I interfaced with our most senior leaders across functions, developed our investor day and board narratives, and drove meaningful growth for Intuit, but I still wasn't close enough to the customer or our product. Toward the end of my time in strategy, I began working on our strategy to take QuickBooks beyond small business and into the mid-market. Partnering closely with our product and product marketing teams, I was invited to join product marketing full-time and have been in product marketing for almost two year.

Why do I coach?

I decided to begin coaching for two reasons. The first is my colleagues at Intuit have proactively sought me out for my help navigating their own careers. They have seen my progression from finance to strategy to product marketing and want help understanding how they can make similar transitions. The second reason is I don't believe you need another certificate, degree, or course to pivot your career and I want to help people avoid losing time and money if they don't have to. With the right approach, you can pivot your career within the company you work and better align your passions and values to your day to day job.
