Jason’s College Qualifications

10+ people coached for College

Jason has helped clients get into these schools:

As a recent Duke graduate who has followed the world of college admissions for multiple years, I understand the intricacies of gaining acceptance to top-tier institutions. With a professional interest in STEM but a wide range of personal interests, I have successfully coached a batch of students, including three who were admitted to the Duke classes of 2025, 2026, and 2027. During my time at Duke, I also worked very closely with the admissions office, having access to admissions files as an admissions assistant. I therefore have seen what admissions officers at an elite institution truly think and write down about each application that passes through their hands. I am also set to start as an Alumni Admissions Interviewer in Fall 2024. My experience also extends beyond admissions; my background is within technology and I have worked at leading tech companies like AWS and Amazon, and currently, I am a key player at high-growth startups in the FinTech and mental health sectors. For college admissions, I can help the most if you have these backgrounds or questions: - You plan on studying STEM but have a wide range of extracurricular activities that you feel need "tying together" in your narrative - Aiming for top 15 US colleges (a plus if Duke is your dream school) - You come from a historically academically competitive area/district and you may feel you don't know what you bring to the table besides strong academic stats (I was in the same position) College was my most transformative experience. I sincerely believe everyone deserves a chance to achieve their higher education dreams. I deeply understand what it feels like to be "lost" or question the validity of your story; at the end of the day, everyone has a greater purpose and story beyond their resume. I know the struggle of trying to accurately represent myself while drafting an application, and I heavily sympathize with this feeling after talking to many others who were applying to or have gained admission to high-caliber academic institutions. If you relate to this description at all, we may be a great fit -- let's connect and craft YOUR winning narrative and application.

About Jason

Background: - Duke University, B.S. in Computer Science and Statistics (2024) - Columbia Business School, MBA (2028 Expected Matriculation) About Me: I graduated from Duke in May 2024 with a B.S in Computer Science and Statistics. During my time in college, I interned with Amazon and AWS and was highly involved with the university through its community engagements and professional network. I was also admitted to Columbia Business School as a member of the 2024 Deferred Enrollment Program cohort, where I intend to pursue an MBA in the next few years. I'm an engineer by trade but a storyteller at heart. I seek to inspire others through insightful conversations and equally meaningful action plans. I value personal growth and a commitment to excellence; meeting new people is my favorite thing to do. I believe gaining new perspectives is necessary for self and community success. I hope to work with you to achieve your personal and professional goals!

Why do I coach?

Everyone is more than just a few bullet points on their resume. I believe individual experiences come together to constitute our life stories and narratives. However, not many people take the time to reflect on what makes them "themselves", and even fewer people are good at truly objective introspection. This unfortunate fact haunts many during admissions cycles and job recruitment; people try to write what they think makes them look good over what they're truly passionate about. For me, the most valuable task, as a coach, is to ask the tougher questions, find better answers, and help individuals articulate their most authentic thoughts.
