Description
This focused three-session coaching engagement is designed for nonprofit executives and emerging leaders who need to move a mission-critical priority forward while navigating limited resources, workforce capacity, and competing stakeholder expectations. Whether you are leading organizational growth, launching or strengthening a program, managing change, or working through an operational challenge, we will turn complexity into a practical path forward. Before our first session, you will receive a brief set of intake questions through Leland messaging covering your organization, priority, stakeholders, current challenges, and desired outcome. Session 1 — Clarify the Mission-Critical Priority We will assess the current situation, define the outcome you want to achieve, connect it to the organization’s mission, and identify the most significant barriers, risks, and opportunities. Session 2 — Align People, Stakeholders, and Capacity We will identify the people whose engagement is essential—including staff, board members, funders, partners, agencies, or community stakeholders—and develop an approach for building alignment. We will also examine the workforce, program, process, and resource gaps that could affect successful execution of the selected priority. Session 3 — Build the Execution Roadmap We will translate the strategy into a focused 90-day roadmap with priorities, milestones, ownership, stakeholder communication, and accountability measures. We will also identify the leadership skills and organizational capabilities needed to sustain progress beyond the engagement. My approach combines candid, strategic coaching with practical nonprofit and executive leadership experience. Each session will conclude with clear actions you can begin applying immediately.

Coaching delivered via live sessions.
This package includes three private, 60-minute coaching sessions delivered by video over approximately four to six weeks. Sessions are typically scheduled one to two weeks apart, giving you time to apply what we discuss, engage the appropriate people, assess progress, and bring new insights or obstacles into our next conversation. My coaching style is candid, strategic, supportive, and action-oriented. I understand the distinct realities of nonprofit leadership, including limited resources, workforce capacity, board and funder expectations, community accountability, and the need to balance mission with operational demands. I will ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and help you identify practical solutions that fit your organization rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. You bring your knowledge of the organization, its people, and its mission. I bring an objective executive perspective, a structured process, and firsthand experience leading nonprofits and building alignment across diverse stakeholders. Each session will conclude with clear actions you can begin implementing immediately.
Before the first session, clients will receive a brief set of intake questions through Leland messaging. Please submit your responses at least 48 hours before our scheduled session so I can understand your organization, mission-critical priority, key stakeholders, current challenges, and desired outcome. All three coaching sessions should be completed within 90 days of purchase unless we agree to a different schedule in advance. Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice. Sessions canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be counted as used, except in the case of an emergency. Between sessions, clients may send brief updates or clarifying questions through Leland messaging. I will generally respond within two business days. Substantive coaching, document review, or additional strategy development may require scheduled coaching time. This package focuses on one defined organizational or programmatic priority. It does not include a comprehensive organizational assessment, complete strategic plan, grant writing, fundraising plan, or independent implementation services. Coaching is a collaborative process designed to strengthen leadership, strategic clarity, stakeholder alignment, and execution. While I am committed to providing thoughtful guidance, practical tools, and actionable support, specific organizational, programmatic, financial, or other outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Former Nonprofit COO | Aligning People and Strategy for Effective Execution
I bring more than 13 years of leadership experience and have served as Chief Operating Officer for both an established statewide advocacy organization and a rapidly growing national nonprofit. In these roles, I partnered with CEOs and boards to translate strategic priorities into operational plans, strengthen organizational infrastructure, develop the workforce, and lead functions spanning finance, human resources, technology, communications, development, compliance, and administration. At the Colorado Children’s Campaign, I helped strengthen the systems and cross-functional alignment that supported a 37% increase in organizational revenue. My broader executive experience includes leading multi-state operations encompassing 16 programs, more than 350 employees, and approximately $20 million in operational responsibility. As a Colorado state legislator, I now build coalitions across government, business, healthcare, nonprofit, and community sectors to move complex priorities from concept to implementation. This combination gives me a practical understanding of the challenges nonprofit leaders face, including limited resources, competing stakeholder expectations, workforce recruitment and retention, board relationships, and organizational change. I help nonprofit leaders clarify their strategy, strengthen their leadership, align and motivate their teams, and create actionable plans that move their organizations forward.
