Felipe’s GMAT Qualifications

Scored a 770 on the GMAT

I spent a VERY long time studying the GMAT only to come up very short on GMAT math. Twice. Then I spent weeks doing nothing but studying those who ACED the exam, with an emphasis on those who did so after having middling scores. The result was a big change in my study and practice process. And I went from 54th percentile math scores TWICE after lots and lots of study, to getting the effective high score on the GMAT Math after only a couple months of study with my new process. I will show you exactly how I did it so you have the same framework and standards I had.

About Felipe

Stanford MBA, Stanford JD, and Harvard JD admit. I got into these programs after years of GMAT/LSAT study (and solid scores) and concerted research on every element of the application process. I was asked to interview for Stanford MBA on day 1 and I was interviewed by Mary Barra (CEO of General Motors), so I have intimidating interview prep experience. I was accepted without being waitlisted. Looking back, I had an abysmal starting point, with a very naive concept of what a sterling essay or LoR might look like. But I meticulously sought out how to craft each element masterfully. I also developed a study plan that got me to a 770 GMAT (51 on math after a middling score) and helped me ace the logic and nearly ace the logical reasoning sections of the LSAT. I had spent over a year studying for the GMAT only to have a middle-of-the-road math score. Then I diligently pieced together a plan by studying those who aced the math portion and bumped my score to 51 (effectively the max) on the GMAT math. I did something similar for the LSAT logic sections (3/4 of the test). I can teach you the very crucial study strategies and practice methods that took me from average to ace, so that you can do the same in a matter of weeks instead of years. I will also concisely help you get from mediocre to maximum on every element of your application and test-taking process for MBA and JD programs. I have helped multiple people, with a relatively small amount of time and tight timeframe, get into Yale's JD program and interview for Stanford's MBA program with guidance it took me years to distill. I'll do the same for you. And I won’t charge a fortune.

Why do I coach?

I believe in human potential. That perseverance and ingenuity rise above raw talent in the pursuit of great achievement. And that being coachable and seeking honest, high-quality feedback from others -- whether from customers if you are building a business, from your spouse and children if you are a parent, or from people who have overcome similar challenges -- is the most reliable path to reaching your goals. Coaching from others and disciplined self-reflection have driven steady growth and, at times, breakthrough transformation in my life. I have seen determined students and job seekers accomplish what once seemed impossible by acting on clear and thoughtful advice. I am committed to helping close the distance between those who are truly coachable and the full potential that is waiting to be realized within them. This belief formed the heart of my “What Matters Most” essay for Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. Once at Stanford, I led an initiative among more than one hundred incoming GSB students to collaboratively prepare for advanced-level coursework. That effort produced the highest number of students enrolled in advanced classes in the school’s history, and several classmates went on to pursue highly technical careers in part because of it. This same conviction is a major reason I love building a high-growth company, being a dad to a large and lively family of seven children, soon to be eight, and leading a fast-growing Chinese-speaking congregation as a volunteer where I live in Houston, Texas.
