I'm a former McKinsey Engagement Manager and interviewer, and founder of Calvanese Advisory. I spent 4.5 years at McKinsey in the strategy practice, across the US and Italy offices, conducting 100+ candidate interviews from the interviewer side of the table. My core offer is the Calibration Diagnostic, a structured assessment I designed at Calvanese Advisory. It exists for the one thing free resources and peer practice can't replace: an honest, calibrated assessment from someone who has evaluated candidates in real consulting interviews. The proprietary framework — 15 dimensions across behavioral and case, split into core and execution — is applied the way an interviewer applies it in the room. Most mock interviews end in impressions. The Calibration Diagnostic ends in a structured written report — a dimension-by-dimension map of your performance against the bar that you can return to throughout your prep. That structure is the difference between "I think I did okay" and knowing exactly where you stand and what to fix. Why this is different: — Cases designed at EM standard, validated by other McKinsey interviewers — Behavioral prep grounded in what MBB firms actually evaluate — Written, structured feedback across 15 dimensions — your performance mapped against what clears the bar, drawn from real interviewer experience — Bilingual EN/IT, with working proficiency in French and Spanish — useful for European candidates and dual-language prep Best fit for: candidates targeting MBB or tier-2, strong-fundamentals candidates trying to break above the bar, and experienced hires switching from industry. Not a fit for: candidates very early in prep looking for foundational frameworks.

About Enrico

I grew up in Italy and came to the US for my career, spending 4.5 years at McKinsey across the Denver and Milan offices in the firm's strategy practice. Two threads run through my life outside consulting. The first is climbing. I'm a mountaineer, and choosing Denver and Milan as my offices was deliberate: both put serious mountains less than an hour from the desk. The second is work in international development, which has taken me to live and work across six continents. Both shape how I think about coaching. Climbing trains you to break hard problems into deliberate moves, and working across very different contexts teaches you when frameworks travel and when they don't. What I try to bring as a coach is a structured but not formulaic approach. Frameworks matter, but most candidates I saw at McKinsey weren't rejected for failing to use a framework. They were rejected for not thinking clearly under pressure. My work focuses on that more than on any prescribed methodology.

Why do I coach?

The most fulfilling parts of my consulting years weren't the engagements themselves. They were the moments when someone on my team — a junior on a project, a candidate I was interviewing across the table — saw something new in how they were thinking and started to operate differently. I'd find myself looking forward to those moments more than the actual client work. When I left McKinsey, doing this full-time was the obvious next step. I also coach because good case interview coaching is harder to access than it should be. Most candidates don't have a former MBB EM in their network willing to spend hours diagnosing what's actually getting in their way. I want to be part of changing that.
