Daniel’s Aerospace Engineering Qualifications

Experience level: Intern

Daniel brings a unique combination of hands-on aerospace engineering experience, leadership, and a dedication to mentoring others, making him an outstanding choice as an Aerospace Engineering coach. With roles at NASA's Kennedy Space Center and BAE Systems (formerly Ball Aerospace), Daniel has specialized in cutting-edge control systems, avionics, and mission-critical software for flagship projects such as NASA's Artemis missions and NEO Surveyor. He has repeatedly demonstrated technical leadership—successfully guiding diverse teams, leading the design of electronics for spacecraft, and developing secure protocols while ensuring budget efficiency and engineering rigor. Daniel's role as Chief Engineer at the AggieSat Lab saw him spearhead the development of a CubeSat Controls Testbed, collaborating across disciplines to advance next-generation satellite technologies. Daniel not only brings deep technical expertise in aerospace engineering but also a passion for guiding aspiring engineers to their full potential through mentorship and real-world project experience.

About Daniel

Daniel’s interest in aerospace engineering developed naturally as he grew up in Texas, surrounded by a supportive family and a community that valued practical problem-solving and hands-on learning. Rather than a single, dramatic turning point, his path was shaped by curiosity about how things worked, encouragement from teachers, and opportunities in school to get involved with science and engineering projects. He gravitated toward engineering because it was a field where he could combine analytical skills with real-world impact, and aerospace became a focus because it offered a challenge that kept him motivated to keep learning and pushing himself further. For Daniel, this journey is less about dramatic moments and more about steady growth, perseverance, and a desire to open doors for others interested in following a similar path.

Why do I coach?

During his undergraduate years, Daniel served as a lab instructor for Electricity and Magnetism at Texas A&M’s College of Engineering, where he guided students through hands-on experiments and project-based learning. This experience showed him how impactful it can be to help others bridge the gap between theory and application, and he found real satisfaction in watching students develop both technical skills and confidence in their problem-solving abilities. Now, Daniel wants to extend that supportive, educational approach into his specialized career in aerospace engineering. Coaching allows him to keep doing what he valued as a TA—helping people work through challenges, understand complex ideas, and succeed in ambitious projects—while bringing a deeper, domain-specific perspective rooted in real aerospace experience. For Daniel, it’s about carrying forward a passion for teaching by mentoring others at the next level in the field he loves.
