Annie’s Quantitative Finance Qualifications
Experience level: Associate
Ex-Citadel L/S Equity Associate and Quantitative Analyst at Millennium (energy trading pod). Founder of Traders@Berkeley, one of the largest student trading organizations in the country. Over the course of my own career I have interviewed at nearly every major trading shop, fund and bank, across both systematic and fundamental strategies. Going through the process myself gave me the expertise to understand how they're structured, who the good PMs are, and how exactly to get your resume in front of the right people. I've also worked many different recruiting agencies. I know which ones have genuine relationships with specific teams and PMs, and which ones will spam your resume across the street before you're ready. Since agencies have exclusive rights to your introduction, it is vital to choose the right recruiters, and I will help you navigate them as well. Whether you're still in school, breaking in from another field, or looking to switch shops or PMs, I can help you position yourself correctly and make the most of every opportunity you get.

About Annie
Hello and great to meet you! I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2021 with a triple major in Applied Mathematics, Economics, and Data Science. I started my career on the buyside at Citadel in L/S equity before moving to Millennium as a quant analyst on an energy trading pod. I'm currently on gardening leave, and I've spent that time doing something I've always cared about: helping candidates break into hedge funds and trading. I started Traders@Berkeley 5 years ago for the same reason: this industry is deliberately hard to navigate from the outside, and most candidates are doing it without anyone who's actually been inside it. I work with candidates from strong quantitative backgrounds who are serious about this path. Beyond technical prep, I focus on something most coaches skip - helping you figure out which shop, which strategy, and which PM structure is actually right for you long-term.
Why do I coach?
Building Traders@Berkeley taught me something I didn't expect: the students who wanted this the most weren't always the ones who knew how to get it. The trading world is deliberately opaque: the right shops, the right prep, the right way to position yourself. Most candidates are navigating it blind. Coaching became a natural extension of that community. There's nothing quite like watching someone land a role they'd convinced themselves was out of reach.
