Package Description:

MBA essays don't fail because applicants lack good stories. They fail because the stories don't land: too vague, too polished, too generic to belong to one specific person. This package is for applicants who want expert eyes on every draft, not just high-level direction. ** Before you book, send me your current drafts through the Leland message thread. A quick look at where you are tells me exactly how many hours your essays need and means every hour you commit actually moves you forward. I'll confirm the right package size — and whether I have availability — before you purchase. ** From there, the work happens in two passes: ✍️ Pass 1: Paragraph by Paragraph — I read your draft the way AdCom does: looking for throughline, story selection, and whether the specific details are doing the work you think they are. You'll get full written annotations on every paragraph — what's landing, what's losing the reader, and where the real story is buried underneath the version you submitted. Where something needs a rewrite, I'll show you one, with notes explaining every change so you understand the reasoning, not just the result. 🔍 Pass 2: Line by Line — Once the structure and story feel right after my paragraph by paragraph revision, I get surgical. I start to hedge words, replace passive constructions with owned agency, and find the generic phrases in an otherwise strong paragraph and replace it with something that could only belong to you. On timing: plan for roughly one hour per essay, though the actual time varies. Early or rough drafts, GSB WMM essays, and applications with cross-essay coherence issues tend to run longer. Late-stage drafts, strong short-answer responses, and second or third iterations of the same essay tend to move faster. When you send me your drafts upfront, I'll give you an honest read on scope. If we finish and there's time left in your block, it carries back to you. Choose the package that fits where you are: ⏱️ 3 hours: Right for 2–3 essays at a late stage that are structurally strong and need a precision pass. Best for applicants who are close and need expert eyes, not a rebuild. ⏱️ 5 hours: A full essay set at mid-draft stage with room for one round of iteration on the essay that needs it most. Covers the typical core set for one school with additional essays or several schools with tighter sets. ⏱️ 8 hours: For more complex sets, earlier drafts that need structural work before polish, or applicants working across multiple schools with additional essays at varying stages. ⏱️ 10 hours: For applicants doing serious multi-school work, multiple rounds of revision, or coming in at an early draft stage where story development and structural intervention happen before line-level work begins. What you can expect from me: ✨ 48–72 hour turnaround on all materials (often faster) ✨ Async delivery via Leland messaging, no back and forth scheduling for live sessions required (although I am also happy to use some of your hours to chat live!) ✨ Deliberately small client roster so your drafts get real, focused attention ✨ Honest feedback that makes your application materially stronger, not just cleaner

What you'll get from this package

Paragraph-by-Paragraph Structural Feedback: Full written annotations on every paragraph, including what's landing, what's losing the reader, and where the real story is.

Rewrite Demonstrations: Where a paragraph needs rebuilding, a rewritten version with notes on changes so you understand the reasoning behind it.

Line-by-Line Polish Pass: Edits on word choice, agency, and precision so every sentence is load-bearing and nothing reads like it could belong to anyone else.

Honest Scope Assessment Upfront: A read on your drafts before you book so you commit to the right number of hours and nothing goes to waste.

Unused Hour Carryback: Any time left at the end of your engagement carries forward and unused hours are refunded at the end of your admission cycle.

I currently teach entrepreneurship at Stanford and founded the Education Entrepreneurship Hub (joint program across all 7 schools). I have firsthand admissions experience with 5 out of 7 Stanford schools (everything except Law and Medicine), giving me unique insight into how different programs evaluate candidates. My focus areas span entrepreneurship (MBA, MS&E, and other entrepreneurial degrees), education, policy, and CS - allowing me to guide clients across diverse graduate programs and career transitions. I love working with: 🚀 The Entrepreneur Who Thinks They're "Just" Running a Small Business You've built something amazing but don't realize how impressive it actually is. I help translate your startup journey into MBA-speak that makes AdComs sit up and take notice. 💼 The Consultant/Finance Person Who Feels Generic Yes, there are lots of you - but there's only one YOU. I specialize in finding what makes your story different from the other 500 consultants applying to Wharton. 🎯 The High-Achiever Who Downplays Their Impact You accomplished incredible things but describe them like anyone could have done it. I help you own your achievements and communicate them with confidence. 🌍 The Career Changer with a Winding Path Multiple industries? Gap years? Drop Out? That "unconventional" background you're worried about? That's often pure gold - we just need to connect the dots strategically. My approach: Think collaborative brainstorming meets strategic positioning. I'm your biggest cheerleader AND your honest feedback partner. We'll dig deep into your experiences, find your authentic voice, and craft applications that feel genuinely like you - just the best, most compelling version. Real Talk: I only work with people who are coachable and willing to put in the work. I'm not going to write your essays for you, but I will help you write essays that feel authentically yours and get results! Recent Wins: MIT Sloan R3 admit (despite test struggles), scholarship funding for a single mom founder, multiple M7 admits for "overrepresented" backgrounds who found their unique angle.
