About Amy
I am the first in my family to earn a master’s degree and the only one to earn a doctorate—milestones that reflect my deep commitment to education, access, and equity. With over two decades of experience in higher education, I’ve led strategic enrollment initiatives spanning admissions, financial aid, student services, and recruitment. I currently serve as the Assistant Dean for Enrollment Services at NYU Silver School of Social Work, where I take a data-informed, student-centered approach to supporting institutional goals and student success. My research focuses on adapting student services for online learners and building sustainable administrative structures that support innovative learning environments. I also teach as an adjunct professor at NYU, where I have the privilege of mentoring graduate students and helping them grow into thoughtful, equity-minded leaders.
Why do I coach?
I coach students through the graduate school application process because I know firsthand how overwhelming and isolating it can be, especially for first-generation applicants. Unlike the undergraduate experience, there are no dedicated guidance or college counselors to walk students through this next phase. Many are left to navigate complex program options, admissions requirements, and personal statements entirely on their own. I step in to fill that gap with a supportive, strategic, and personalized approach. What sets me apart is my ability to deeply connect with students and help them bring clarity to their goals and stories. I’m a deep thinker, highly analytical, and skilled at seeing connections others often miss, whether it’s identifying a unique angle for a personal statement or mapping out a plan for selecting the right programs. My interpersonal strengths help students feel seen, heard, and empowered to present the strongest version of themselves. I believe every student deserves a coach who can help them access what’s possible, especially when no one else is showing them the way.
