Amar’s College Qualifications
As someone who navigated the college admissions process as a first-generation Indian-American student—ultimately earning a spot at UC Berkeley for EECS and later Harvard Business School’s 2+2 program—I know how daunting and confusing this journey can be. I didn’t have a roadmap handed to me. I had to figure it out the hard way—writing and rewriting essays, researching every program, and learning how to stand out without losing my voice. Since then, I’ve helped dozens of students craft authentic applications to top schools across the U.S., not just by editing essays, but by helping them find and shape their story. I also served as a mentor and fraternity president, where I supported younger students through the same challenges I once faced. Whether you're applying to an Ivy or a state school, I’m here to help you navigate this process with clarity, confidence, and a touch of creativity.

About Amar
I’m Amar, born in India, raised in Houston, and someone who’s always been driven by two things: curiosity and community. I studied EECS at Berkeley with the goal of building something real—something that solves meaningful problems. Along the way, I dabbled in startups, dove deep into quantitative trading, and led a student government through reform. But no matter what I was doing, I always found the most joy in helping others succeed—whether it was mentoring founders, guiding fraternity brothers, or helping a close friend get back on his feet. Now, I work as a trader at Midpoint Markets, and I’m planning to pursue an MBA through Harvard’s 2+2 program. Coaching feels like the perfect extension of everything I’ve done so far—because at the end of the day, I’m just someone who wants to pay forward the support I once received.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I’ve lived firsthand how much a mentor can change the trajectory of someone’s life. My mom raised me on her own while navigating immigration stress, student debt, and job insecurity—and she only made it through because of the people who showed up for her. That shaped how I lead and who I am. Years later, I paid that forward when I helped one of my closest friends recover from homelessness and addiction, mentoring him through financial and personal rebuilding. That experience is why I started my own financial literacy initiative, and it’s why I keep coming back to coaching. There’s no better feeling than helping someone find clarity in the chaos, or giving them the confidence to bet on themselves. I don’t see coaching as a job—it’s just how I move through the world.
