Dr. Allysha’s Mental Health & Wellness Qualifications

Coaches professionally

Experience level: Director

Welcome to my profile! I am a PhD-level behavioral scientist whose research expertise includes the science of wellness and digital health. I also trained at Harvard Medical School and completed my coaching training and board certification at Emory University. I use that expertise to support clients who are looking build more purpose, peace, mindfulness, and wellness into their daily lives. To be clear - this is NOT therapy. This is about taking stock of your life to decide where you can shift your resources and time to have more wellness which is preventive for mental health outcomes overall. Examples of this including building: *daily sleep hygiene routines that result in less anxiety, deeper sleep, and more refreshed mornings *a plan for assembling a healthcare team that can support your needs for mental, physical, and overall health (especially if you are actively dealing with an illness) *awareness and tools for assessing your likelihood of experiencing burnout, and taking steps to address this *building a loving relationship to your own body, self-care routines, and finding cost- and time-efficient ways to do this Our mental health and wellbeing often translates physically - I am living proof. I have maintained a natural weight loss of 150+ pounds over a decade by building wellness at the center of my life. I have coached dozens of others to also lose hundreds of pounds, run thousands of miles, manage chronic health conditions, and find more peace in their lives, and all with 80%+ retention of clients at 12 months.

About Dr. Allysha

Once upon a time, I was in my early 20s, prehypertensive and weighed almost 300 lb. Fast forward 10 years, and I had LOST more than half of my weight and FOUND my voice as a leader. I went on to an extremely successful career as a scientist, professor and consultant who has won $5M in grants and contracts and managed portfolios 4X that size. My career has taken me across academia, nonprofits, healthcare, and in the corporate sector working with clients like tech startups and global consulting firms. I have also published 200+ peer-reviewed papers, conference abstracts, white papers, keynotes, and even recent podcasts. To date, I have coached hundred of leaders of all ages to successes including: *losing a combined 200lb of weight *reversing prediabetes and prehypertension *switching career paths to successfully get high-paying jobs *getting admitted to top 20 universities *saving $250k for retirement *getting 25 combined promotions Those two journeys (1) of losing weight in favor of a healthier lifestyle and (2) flourishing in my career were interconnected. They started my passion about the intersection of well-being and leadership and that is why I coach in this unique niche. No matter client age, I'm always focused on the well-being and centeredness of the leader and how it allows them to be successful in all areas of their life with clarity, alignment, and purpose.

Why do I coach?

When I was that young person navigating profound personal and professional changes all at once, I was lost many times. Often, I found my way by seeing examples of what kind of professional I did NOT want to be. I had few role models, and fewer mentors as I continued forging my own path as a PhD outside of traditional academia. The help that I needed was a coach, someone who understood that the decision-making was mine but was willing to be my accountability partner and Champion when needed. I didn't even have the language at the time to look for a coach. Now my passion is being for others what I never had.
