About Dr. Allysha
Once upon a time, I was in my early 20s, prehypertensive and weighed almost 300 lb. Fast forward 10 years, and I had LOST more than half of my weight and FOUND my voice as a leader. I went on to an extremely successful career as a scientist, professor and consultant who has won $5M in grants and contracts and managed portfolios 4X that size. My career has taken me across academia, nonprofits, healthcare, and in the corporate sector working with clients like tech startups and global consulting firms. I have also published 200+ peer-reviewed papers, conference abstracts, white papers, keynotes, and even recent podcasts. To date, I have coached hundred of leaders of all ages to successes including: *losing a combined 200lb of weight *reversing prediabetes and prehypertension *switching career paths to successfully get high-paying jobs *getting admitted to top 20 universities *saving $250k for retirement *getting 25 combined promotions Those two journeys (1) of losing weight in favor of a healthier lifestyle and (2) flourishing in my career were interconnected. They started my passion about the intersection of well-being and leadership and that is why I coach in this unique niche. No matter client age, I'm always focused on the well-being and centeredness of the leader and how it allows them to be successful in all areas of their life with clarity, alignment, and purpose.
Why do I coach?
When I was that young person navigating profound personal and professional changes all at once, I was lost many times. Often, I found my way by seeing examples of what kind of professional I did NOT want to be. I had few role models, and fewer mentors as I continued forging my own path as a PhD outside of traditional academia. The help that I needed was a coach, someone who understood that the decision-making was mine but was willing to be my accountability partner and Champion when needed. I didn't even have the language at the time to look for a coach. Now my passion is being for others what I never had.
