Allie’s MBA Qualifications
Applying to business school can feel overwhelming, especially if you don’t have a perfect GMAT score, a built-in network, or a professional background to set you apart. I know, because I’ve been there. I grew up in a low-income community, worked my way into Deloitte, and earned admission to Harvard Business School without the kind of advantages many applicants rely on. I’ve also coached consultants and bankers who worried they’d blend into the crowd. What I’ve learned is that admissions committees aren’t just looking for high scores and polished resumes—they’re looking for people with a story. I help applicants surface the experiences, values, and strengths that make them memorable and compelling, even when they feel “average” on paper. From tackling essays and refining resumes to interview prep and recommender strategy, I’ll help you package your experiences into an authentic narrative that opens doors.

About Allie
About me: I grew up in a low-income community in Western Massachusetts, raised by a single mom. I didn’t have a built-in network or strong understanding of corporate America—but I learned early how to work hard, seek out opportunities, and create my own. Growing up, I was a competitive gymnast, then made my way to Boston College, where I threw myself into campus life: leading an anti-racist organization, volunteering, working on campus jobs, and even cheerleading for a year. After graduation, I joined Deloitte Consulting, where I spent nearly a decade advising Fortune 500 companies and nonprofits on growth, strategy, and partnerships. Along the way, I earned admission to Harvard Business School, where I co-founded an impact investing fund focused on expanding access to capital for BIPOC-owned businesses. Today, I lead Product & Marketing at a fintech startup, where I set company strategy alongside the CEO and COO and focus on building more equitable systems of financial access. On Leland, I help others tell their stories with clarity and confidence. Whether applying to business school or making a career transition, I know that numbers and resumes only go so far. What makes the difference is the narrative—the ability to weave your experiences, values, and aspirations into a story that admissions officers or hiring managers can’t ignore. Coaching is how I pay forward the mentorship and guidance that changed my own path, and I love helping others unlock opportunities they may not have thought possible.
Why do I coach?
I am passionate about coaching and mentoring because I would not be where I am today with my own coaches and mentors who believed in me. I've benefitted from those who came before me and I am energized by helping those who come after me. For this reason, I have been coaching and mentoring for as long as I can remember. I've volunteer tutored, led formal and informal mentoring programs, and have lent my experience and expertise to dozens of colleagues, friends, and strangers. I'm excited to continue building relationships with new mentees and sharing what I've learned throughout my career.
