Alexander’s Prestigious Scholarships & Fellowships Qualifications
I am an incoming Schwarzman Scholar in the 11th cohort at Tsinghua University, where I will pursue a Master’s in Global Affairs. I was selected from a highly competitive pool of more than 5,800 applicants worldwide, with an acceptance rate of approximately 2–3%. Through navigating one of the world’s most selective postgraduate scholarship processes, I bring firsthand insight into what makes a successful application. I support applicants to strategically frame their leadership, academic, and professional experiences into a clear, compelling narrative that differentiates them and resonates with selection committees.

About Alexander
I’m a social impact consultant, former consultant at L.E.K. Consulting, and an incoming Schwarzman Scholar (2026–27). I’m first-generation, queer, and from a refugee background, and I attended a non-target university, which meant learning early how to navigate competitive systems without proximity to privilege, power, or institutional support. Alongside consulting, I founded a not-for-profit supporting racially and culturally diverse professionals in Australia to aspire to and reach senior leadership, and led Australia’s largest LGBTQ professional mentoring program, experiences that showed me how transformative access and advocacy can be. In 2025, I attended the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos as part of a global youth delegation. As a coach, I help candidates from non-traditional backgrounds translate lived experience into clear, authentic, and strategically grounded applications that admissions committees trust and remember.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I’ve seen firsthand how access and proximity shape outcomes, often more than talent alone. As a first-generation, queer person from a refugee background and a non-target university, I would not have secured a management consulting offer or the Schwarzman Scholarship without people who coached me, advocated for me, and helped me navigate opaque systems. What made the difference was learning how to translate my experiences in a way that reached both the head and the heart of decision-makers. Through my work in consulting, philanthropy, and founding community organisations, I’ve seen how clear storytelling mobilises support and unlocks opportunity. I’m especially motivated to support candidates from non-traditional backgrounds who have ambition and potential but haven’t had consistent access to institutional knowledge or sponsorship. For me, coaching is about creating that proximity, and paying forward opportunities that can change a life.
