About Siri
Hi, I'm Siri (yes, like the iPhone), a Chicago native and the founder of Chitown Tutoring, one of the highest-rated academic coaching and test prep companies in Chicago. With over a decade of experience, I’ve helped more than 500 students build confidence, raise their scores, and take control of their academic futures, especially in high-stakes environments like the SAT, ACT, GRE, and high school entrance exams in Chicago and NYC. I hold a civil engineering degree from Illinois Tech and an MBA from Chicago Booth, receiving full-tuition scholarships from both institutions. As a first-generation / low-income college student, I know what it’s like to face big goals with limited guidance. That’s why I built Chitown Tutoring -- to provide the kind of consistent, high-quality support I wish more students had access to. Over the years, I’ve designed full curricula, onboarded and trained 50+ tutors, led school programs, partnered with various youth organizations servicing low-income students, and personally delivered more than 10,000 hours of one-on-one instruction. I created Chitown to close the gap between potential and access. I don’t just help students pass a test. I help them believe in their ability to learn, to problem-solve, and to compete. I blend personalized instruction with strategy and mindset development so students can excel in school and beyond.
Why do I coach?
"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." - African Proverb I coach because I know what it means to work hard without a clear roadmap. As a first-generation student from a low-income background, I had to navigate college admissions, test prep, and scholarship applications largely on my own. Despite this, I scored in the 90+ percentile on the ACT, was accepted to multiple top 20 engineering programs (two of them were full-tuition scholarships)—all without the help of a private tutor or formal test prep classes. Later, I earned competitive undergraduate scholarships like the Jackie Robinson Foundation and the Wentcher Foundation, and received full-ride MBA offers from Booth, Darden, and Kelley thanks to MLT and The Consortium. Even with those achievements, I know the journey could have been more focused and less overwhelming if I had a dedicated mentor from the start. It was during my professional and graduate school journey that mentors finally entered my life in a meaningful way. They helped me clarify my goals, refine my story, and make confident decisions about my future. Their support gave me the insight and direction I had been missing for years. Now I coach because I want to be that kind of support for someone else. Whether you are preparing for a major exam, applying to a dream school, pivoting into a new career, or launching a business, I am here to help you move forward with clarity, structure, and encouragement. If you want to go fast, you can go alone. But if you want to go far—if you want to grow with purpose, build something meaningful, and sustain it—I’ll be right there with you. Let’s go far together.
