Admits to HBS, Stanford, Wharton, and INSEAD. Most of the people I coached came in convinced they were a long shot. The profile was never the problem. The framing was. I also now interview candidates as an alumni interviewer for INSEAD, so I've seen both sides of the table: what actually lands, and what doesn't. And unlike most coaches, I'll help you think past the application itself: whether the degree makes sense for where you want to go, what the post-grad paths really look like, and whether the tradeoffs are worth it. That conversation doesn't come up enough — but it's usually the most important one.

About Adnan

MIT. INSEAD. Columbia. LBS. I'll be honest, a few years ago, I wasn't sure I had a shot at any of them. Not a banker. Not a consultant. I started out with internships in marketing, sales, and product during undergrad, then made a pivot into finance that most people told me wouldn't stick. I recently turned down a VC role to take a corporate finance position instead, because I'd rather make the unconventional call I believed in than take the one that looked better on paper. That patchwork: growing up in Lebanon, then studying/working in France, Singapore, the Middle East, and now Toronto isn't the background anyone would design on purpose. But it's the one I learned to own. And getting into 5+ programs taught me that a scattered story, told with intention, can be more compelling than a clean one told without it. I don't coach by handing you a formula. I work with you to figure out what's actually interesting about your path (even the parts that feel like liabilities) and build a strategy around that. If you've ever felt like your background doesn't fit the mold, that's usually exactly where I like to start. I also write about careers, pivots, and what business school actually prepares you for on Substack: https://substack.com/@adnanaboulsi

Why do I coach?

None of what I've achieved happened alone. Someone referred me, read my essays, made an introduction, or just sat with me when I had no idea what I was doing. I had a village, and I want to be part of yours. That village is also what gave me the confidence to ignore bad advice. When I considered deferred MBA programs after already having two business degrees, people told me flat out "you don't stand a chance, why would they lock you in now?" I applied anyway. MIT Sloan and Columbia said yes. I coach because I've seen what happens when people stop shrinking to fit what others expect of them and start building a case for who they actually are. If I could get out of that box, so can you. And honestly? Nothing beats being in your corner on decision day. The adrenaline, the results, the moment it clicks - I never get tired of it! :)
