Aashray’s MBA Qualifications
10+ people coached for MBA
After spending six years as a software engineer in the Bay Area, I decided to take on the challenge of applying to MBA programs—which turned out to be quite the adventure (so much so that I did it twice!). With my DIY approach to life, I handled most of the application process on my own. A big thanks to the awesome Leland coaches who helped me nail the interviews, leading to acceptances from three out of my four top-choice schools. Now, I'm enjoying my time pursuing an MBA at Harvard Business School. Along the way, I've picked up more insights about the program than I ever expected. I realized I love sharing what I've learned and helping others on their own paths. That's why I joined Leland. I'm here to share tips, stories, and guidance to make your MBA application journey a bit smoother—and maybe even a bit fun. If you're gearing up for your own MBA adventure, let's chat and see how I can help!

About Aashray
My journey from high-growth tech startups to an HBS MBA has been full of unexpected twists and turns. The path required focus, strategy, and luck. Although I cannot do much about luck, I would like to help aspirants fine-tune and supercharge their overall applications with focus and strategy to maximize their chances of achieving their ideal outcomes.
Why do I coach?
My journey into engineering wasn't exactly a traditional path—I didn't have a background in the field, but I took a leap of faith and flew to the U.S. to pursue a master's degree at UC Berkeley. Jumping into the software world, I spent the last six years building data platforms for companies in the Bay Area. Early on, I realized just how powerful knowledge and education can be. When I applied for both my master's and MBA programs, I mostly tackled the process on my own, driven by curiosity and a desire to dig deep. I did get some amazing help from Leland coaches for interview tips and practice, which made a real difference. Now, as an MBA student at Harvard Business School, I've learned more about the HBS experience than I ever imagined possible. I also put a lot of effort into preparing for Booth, Wharton, and Stanford—and was fortunate to be interviewed and accepted by Wharton and Booth. I'm excited to share what I've learned with others on their own journeys. I believe that with the right guidance and support, we can overcome challenges and achieve our lifelong dreams. If you're gearing up for your own application adventure, I'd love to help you navigate it.

I worked on the HBS application largely by myself and had to go very deep into understanding how to write a compelling application for HBS. I also studied and practiced extensively for the HBS interview and hope to utilize that experience to help other aspiring candidates.
