I hold an MBA from Harvard Business School along with master's degrees in Defense and Strategic Studies and in Engineering, so I understand competitive, rigorous programs from the inside out, and I know firsthand what admissions committees are looking for. As a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy, I've developed the leadership and crisis-management skills I now use to guide you calmly through every stage of the application process. As a private tutor with Varsity Tutors, I've worked with over 300 students, and the most important thing I've learned is that no two applicants are the same. I tailor my coaching to your story, your strengths, and your goals, whether that means refining your application strategy. I turned my own skill with graduate-school applications--including admission to the US's top clinical psychology Master's/PhD program--into a way to help other applicants succeed. I do that by helping them find the right stories to tell and put their best foot forward, using my experience/success not only with applications but with writing fiction, narrative non-fiction, screenplays, and other story-driven work. Story is the best way to show admissions committees the "person behind the profile." That's what I help my clients do.

While attending the University of Chicago as a PhD student, I mentored master's degree students and worked in MBA admissions. I then returned to California and worked in admissions for the Haas School of Business. After spending years in admissions, I am very interested in helping grad school applicants succeed. Lately most of my clients have applied to Finance, Management, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, and Financial Engineering programs within top business schools, but I have also helped clients apply to Public Health, Economics, and Art History programs.
