Marie is an incredible tutor, friend, and inspiration when it comes to standardized tests. I worked with her for the GMAT and GRE - specifically on Math/Quant. She is not only knowledgeable but is encouraging, holds her students accountable and helps them to achieve success through hard work, repetition and clear explanations. Marie always shows up to each session prepared and provides thoughtful and helpful insight into the respective test strategy and ways to solve problems. I am appreciative of Marie giving me the confidence to conquer the math sections!

Marie is an outstanding tutor! If you are looking for a knowledgeable, direct, candid, and prepared tutored, she is the best. Historically I have struggled with standardized tests and I knew I needed a strong tutor to help me prepare for the GRE. My brother worked closely with Marie and he was so happy with their dynamic and his progress, I quickly switched over to her. I was so impressed with Marie's preparation. She has a clear agenda, takes notes on topics you review, and assigns homework. Even as an adult student it is immensely helpful to have someone hold you accountable to your progress. For students looking to improve and for a tutor to push and challenge them, Marie is your go-to!

Marie is an exceptional GMAT tutor. From the moment I first met her, I intuitively knew that I was working with someone who struck that perfect balance between mathematical ingenuity and teaching ability. I was referred to Marie by an admissions specialist after being unsatisfied with a generically assigned tutor from Varsity. Marie immediately analyzed my needs, crafted a rigorous curriculum, and refreshed me on the fundamentals I needed in order to score in the 700s on the GMAT. She taught me a completely different way of thinking about math— a few weeks in, she had me dreaming about prime numbers at night. Marie is brilliant, fascinating to work with, and also downright hilarious. Though I dread math, I always looked forward to our sessions because I liked her so much and wanted to make her proud! Marie is a phenomenal tutor and coach. I needed the bulk of my help with the Quant section and she perfectly tailored my plan with that focus in mind. She shared all the best resources and tips & tricks while setting a really solid foundation for the entire test. Josh helped me achieve a 700+ score that I honestly didn’t think was possible after struggling with the GMAT for 3 years. In 2018, I took a Manhattan Prep course. After 3 attempts and a private tutor, the highest score I achieved was 610. I gave up feeling defeated and pretty much accepted that I wouldn’t be able to score any higher. In Dec 2020, I decided to retake the GMAT. I used Target Test Prep exclusively for 12-14 hrs/wk, for 4 months and then decided to try tutoring again to more quickly advance my skills. From our first meeting, Josh impressed me. In our 3 months working together, he taught me various problem-solving strategies that I wasn’t learning with TTP’s algebra-only method. Since I was about 70% done with TTP at the time, our first few sessions focused on whatever TTP topics I was working on at the time. Once I finished TTP, we focused more on official practice sets and exams. I met with him on Zoom for 1.5-2 hrs bi-weekly in the early morning before work, which worked great. We focused mainly on quant at first but also worked on CR and SC. Beyond the content, I also experienced major anxiety while taking practice tests, which led to much lower scores than my effort would suggest. Josh quickly realized that I wasn’t facing a content problem, but could instead benefit from integrating mindfulness into my studies to reduce my anxiety. After a disappointing fourth official GMAT result, he recommended a mindfulness book specific to standardized tests, and we created a study plan that focused on the quality of my studying, rather than the number of hours spent studying. One month after that, I scored a 710, 130 points higher than my lowest 2018 GMAT attempt. I’m thrilled by my results and am so grateful to Josh for helping me achieve the GMAT score of my dreams!

When I started studying for the GMAT, I was very concerned. I scored a 650 on my first practice test and I used way more than the allotted amount of time. After my tutoring experience with Marie, I was ultimately able to score a 760 on the actual exam, which was far beyond the goal I had set for myself. Marie knew all the ins and outs of the test, all the best resources for practice, all the best test taking strategies, all the best approaches to different types of problems, etc. Marie was attentive to the areas I struggled with and was able to prescribe effective solutions to any difficulties I faced with testing. I really can't recommend Marie enough. 5/5 for sure.

I hired Marie for GMAT tutoring because I was struggling to break 700 despite months of effort. I came from a competitive background (hamilton college + top tier mgmt consulting firm) and needed to hit my target of 730. Marie was able to nimbly pick up the curriculum with me, at my level, and diagnose / teach me the content I needed to learn in order to break 700. I ended up hitting 730 ahead of schedule and it was her lessons that made the critical difference. Highly recommend.

I worked with Erfun in 2021 to study for the GMAT. He was a fantastic tutor and helped me achieve a great score that got me into my target schools. His ability to identify your strengths/weaknesses, structure a lesson plan around your abilities, and clearly and succinctly explain the the answers for each question/question type is unparalleled. He not only teaches the underlying theory for each topic (be it quant or verbal), but also drills the importance of learning how to take the test with well-defined strategies for each question type. If I were to have studied by myself, I almost certainly would have overlooked the significance of identifying each question type and being strict in following the same strategy for each. A huge piece for me was having structure within my studying. Studying for the GMAT is daunting, especially with a full-time job, so having a plan was crucial. Erfun helped devise a study plan with quizzes/practice tests and a target for test day. He kept me on track with daily practice from his trove of questions as well as weekly assignments based on the current area of focus. Working with Erfun was definitely a worthwhile investment in my B school journey.
