Alex's hourly rate was more than what I hoped to spend, but he was totally worth it. Unlike other tutors I'd worked with, Alex comes incredibly prepared, so you get a lot more out of your time with him than you typically would. Ahead of our sessions, he had reviewed my previous practice exams to ensure we focused not only on the topics I wanted to review, but also the topics he believed would increase my score. He had thorough decks prepared and provided robust notes to track learnings from each session. He is also an incredible teacher who breaks down the content incredibly simply and provides tips and tricks to get you through the exam more efficiently. Overall, Alex is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and awesome to work with, and he helped me raise my GRE 4+ points on both verbal and quant sections!

After almost 10 hour exam yesterday (GRE + Toefl), I was exhausted. I woke up this morning and I had a nosebleed. I opened my computer, and I typed leland.com to write Alex the best review. You see, Alex was so great that I was eager to write him a review when one of my nose is stuffed with tissue as I am typing this. I worked with him on GRE. He was attentive, supportive, positive, and detailed. If going the extra mile means something, he could be the example. By now, I took gmat 8 times, gre 3 times - so that makes me 11 time test taker, and I am so glad that I am done. On a deeper level, I think these graduate level tests are like IQ tests so there are invincible walls that you cannot climb once you hit the threshold. I did not believe in that wall. I think anyone could climb the wall, so i tried for 2 years. Whatever the case, and despite my lack of english-only environment especially in my formative years (childhood years and many books read during the age 12-17 seem to be the most decisive factor in verbal to be honest), I think the way Alex taught me materials was very good and i wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone. Thank you.

Ryna has been an extreme pleasure to work with! She is flexible with her time and has helped my son and daughter succeed on their SAT and ACT tests. Their personalities could not be more different, and yet Ryna was able to connect with both of them on their level and increase their scores from when they began. As an added bonus, Ryna is also able to guide us through the formation of a college art portfolio, which we are in process of now.

Sage was a phenomenal tutor over the course of six weeks as I prepared to take the GMAT. He prepared efficient lessons that really focused on the key strategies needed to learn how to approach the problems on the exam quickly and accurately. He also varied how he approached the same problems to ensure each strategy clicked. I also appreciated that he made sure to not move on to another concept until he was sure I had a strong grasp of the current lesson. Furthermore, he always invited questions which made me feel comfortable while I was learning. Beyond our specific tutoring sessions, Sage always made himself available via email which I found to be tremendously valuable. After I took and reviewed practice tests on my own time, I sometimes asked Sage questions via email about solutions I didn't quite understand, and he always responded promptly. By the end of our tutoring engagement, I felt fully prepared to take the exam and in the end, was thrilled with my score of 750. I was very grateful for all the strategies and content I learned from Sage, and also his passion for my learning.

I came to Sage as an engineer fresh out of undergrad who wanted to get in the 700s (highest I had scored to that point was 680), and left Sage with a fantastic GMAT score (760). First of all, I actually enjoyed going to my GMAT prep sessions. Insane, I know, but Sage made it an enjoyable, welcoming place to learn. He didn't take himself too seriously, but still was able to drive home critical pieces of information. I cannot recommend him enough as a person, and that is before anything to do with his effectiveness as a tutor. He was well-versed in both the verbal and math sections (I needed more help on the former). Don't worry about useless busy work either, he picks relevant problems / topics to ensure you do your best. In short, I cannot recommend Sage enough for any GMAT services - great guy and great tutor!!

I attended Alex's group class that covered the Quant part of the GMAT/GRE and, having just started revising for the GMAT, I found it incredibly helpful. I cannot believe how many actionable strategies I learnt over the course of only an hour and a half! Alex is patient and incredibly knowledgeable. I also appreciated the fact that he used real-life examples to simplify the most challenging and abstract problems that we encountered during the session. I highly recommend him!

It was such a pleasure to work with Erfun! I worked with two other tutors before him, and both could not push me to get a top score the way Erfun did. Before I started working with Erfun, I was scoring 160 on verbal and 151 on quant. My final verbal score and quant score were each 165! I could not have increased my quant score so significantly without Erfun's persistence and willingness to continue working with me until I achieved the scores that I wanted. While he has a vast array of materials and practice questions to work on, Erfun's high expectations for his students is what got my scores to where they needed to be. He holds his students accountable for putting in the work and consistent practice, which got me to that higher level I couldn't reach without him. I highly recommend working with Erfun! You won't regret it.

I got in touch with Dalal somewhere in October 2021. She has been such a wonderful woman, coach, philosopher, and guide. She has helped me to identify my weaknesses and directed me to work in the right direction. She helps you to set realistic goals instead of making false promises. She comes with such an amazing experience of selflessly guiding and tutoring people. I've loved working under her guidance. Keep rocking Dalal!

I attended the small group session with Alex. Learned some tricks for approaching the GMAT with problem solving strategies that are faster than brute-force math. Was exactly what I was looking for!

Right off the bat, Alex made practice for these daunting tests more enjoyable because you feel that "we are going to climb this mountain together" mentality. He brings many different strategies to the table to help parse out some of the more confusing questions. His knowledge and depth into each question as well as his willingness to help and share his thought process with different solving methods gives you ammunition against any question. Preparing for the tests with Alex's help has been a great experience I plan on continuing!
