Malachi is a role model for many people. No matter how busy he is, he will make time to help pre dents and pre meds get into their dream profession. He is a disciplined individual and would make a great dentist. I met him at impressions day and went to Towson with him.

BCG’s emphasis on strategy and collaboration initially left me unsure of how to frame my prior experience in R&D. Adam’s approach to bridging that gap was brilliantly holistic. He didn’t just drill me on case studies—he wanted to really understand my journey, from patent development to team leadership. Once he grasped the nuances of my background, we set up practice sessions tailored to BCG’s style, which often involves thinking outside traditional frameworks. Adam constantly reminded me to clarify assumptions for my interviewer and to relate every data point to broader strategic considerations. His biggest insight, though, was that BCG loves “team players,” so he had me incorporate stories where I mentored junior colleagues and collaborated across departments. His feedback was always concrete: “Let’s reframe this,” “Focus on results here,” or “Tie this back to the client goal.” I especially appreciated how he nudged me to highlight the human side of my R&D achievements. That advice helped me stay relatable, even when discussing technical subjects. By interview day, I felt prepared, confident, and genuinely excited to share my story. My final offer from BCG wouldn’t have been possible without Adam’s thoughtful coaching.

Adam’s genuine passion for coaching shone through the moment we connected about my McKinsey ambitions. I had decent problem-solving skills, but my answers often rambled. Adam swiftly taught me to “shorten and sharpen,” using mini-frameworks that guided me through each step of the case. His positive energy was contagious, making our intense sessions surprisingly enjoyable. He also helped me craft punchy personal anecdotes that showcased leadership and resilience. I emerged from each lesson more confident and focused. Ultimately, I walked into interviews feeling bulletproof. I owe that clarity to Adam’s first-rate coaching.

For me, applying to Bain was about forging a new path from a non-traditional background in arts management. Adam embraced that uniqueness right away. Rather than trying to fit me into a typical “consulting mold,” he encouraged me to see my creative problem-solving skills as a valuable differentiator. We spent our sessions rewriting my stories so they aligned with Bain’s culture of teamwork, impact, and innovation. At one point, we roleplayed a scenario where I had to pivot an entire museum’s marketing strategy—Adam coached me to break down the problem with a crisp framework, while still injecting my artistic flair. His feedback was never generic; he specifically pinpointed which parts of my pitch felt fuzzy and showed me how to tighten them. He even recommended some business reads that mirrored my background, giving me extra confidence. By the time interviews came around, I could articulate my experiences with the perfect blend of logic and passion. Bain’s offer felt like a triumph, and it’s thanks to Adam for seeing what made me stand out and helping me refine it.

I’d heard BCG loves a big-picture perspective. Adam showed me exactly how to deliver that in a methodical, story-driven way. From day one, he checked my frameworks for clarity and consistency, pushing me to consider broader implications of each case solution. He also taught me to keep the client’s viewpoint front and center, tying each insight back to business impact. It wasn’t just about mechanics—Adam’s upbeat vibe made even the hardest mock sessions feel enjoyable. I was well-prepared for anything BCG threw at me, and my final interviewers were notably impressed with my structured thinking and confident delivery. Thank you, Adam!

Although I’d prepped extensively, something about McKinsey’s “Personal Experience Interview” format kept tripping me up. Adam honed in on that from the start, asking me to run through my experiences in structured segments—what I did, why I did it, and what I learned. He then added a layer of “client impact” thinking, reminding me McKinsey wants to see tangible results. Our practice sessions went deep: we dissected a leadership story in which I organized a cross-departmental project. Adam helped me highlight not just the project’s success, but how I handled conflicts and engaged stakeholders. He also tested my ability to pivot under challenging follow-up questions, a real game-changer. When the real interviews happened, I stayed calm, methodical, and authentic. Scoring a McKinsey offer felt like proof of how effective Adam’s targeted approach could be.

Transitioning from a tech startup to MBB seemed like a leap, but Adam turned it into a structured journey. He began by breaking down the core similarities: data-driven decision-making and agile problem-solving. Then he tackled my weaknesses head-on, like clarifying assumptions in case interviews and speaking concisely about results. Adam’s hallmark style is thoroughness without pressure—he somehow keeps sessions relaxed while dissecting my approach with laser focus. More importantly, he taught me to leverage my startup stories as proof of adaptability and initiative, exactly what top consultancies want. His insights into MBB’s nuances—like the difference in emphasis on personal fit versus case depth—were invaluable. After every session, I’d leave with actionable steps and renewed confidence. By the time interviews came, I felt completely ready. The MBB offers followed soon after.

Despite decent case practice, I still felt Bain’s interview style was a wildcard. Adam brought remarkable clarity. He first walked me through Bain’s core principles, emphasizing how the firm values both analytical prowess and strong relationship-building skills. From there, he coached me on weaving empathy and real-world insights into my case solutions—an approach he said Bain particularly appreciates. His feedback was always thorough; he’d stop me at key points to ask, “How would this help the client?” or “Where can we add a human angle?” He even suggested creative ways to highlight my leadership in group projects. I left each session feeling more comfortable, not only with frameworks but also with my own storytelling ability. Landing the Bain offer felt downright surreal, and I’m convinced Adam’s coaching made all the difference.

I had a strong résumé but didn’t realize how crucial communication style is for McKinsey. Adam identified this right away. He taught me to speak in concise “MECE” chunks that lined up perfectly with McKinsey’s structured thinking. He also drilled into my personal stories, helping me refine their arcs so they clearly showed leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving. Each practice session felt intense but rewarding—Adam never let me off easy, yet I always sensed his genuine excitement in my progress. I appreciated how he’d check in between sessions with quick tips or relevant articles, keeping me in the zone. By interview day, I’d internalized his frameworks and felt more polished than ever. The offer letter was just icing on the cake!

I’d been told that BCG’s case interviews were notoriously tough. Adam made them feel not only manageable but downright interesting. He took a genuine interest in my background—nonprofit strategy—then showed me how those experiences could fit BCG’s analytical approach. His sense of humor and structured practice sessions helped me adapt quickly to BCG’s case style. Every time I messed up, he calmly walked me through better frameworks without making me feel inadequate. That mix of empathy and expertise kept me motivated throughout. Ultimately, I felt completely prepared when I faced my interviews, and I owe that confidence to Adam’s guidance.
