Nirmal is an incredible tutor and I would not have gotten my goal GRE score without his help. Before working together, I was stuck with a low range score. I needed to make a big jump for my top choice graduate schools and Nirmal got me there. He guided me through every verbal/quant topic on the test and broke the content down into digestible parts that we would review during our sessions. Outside of our meetings, Nirmal took time to to identify my weakest areas, developed homework specifically tailored to my needs and then provided awesome tricks to attack abstract questions. When I would struggle with a topic, Nirmal would stop and explain the concept in a way that I could understand. Nirmal is patient, incredibly kind, professional, very flexible and brilliant. I have recommended him to every friend I have that will be taking the GMAT or GRE and I can not think of a better person to work with. Thank you so much Nirmal, I am beyond grateful!

I have personally recommended Nirmal to all of my friends who are considering taking the GMAT, and I would endorse Nirmal to any person looking for assistance with this test. Nirmal is thoughtful, courteous and diligent. He is also extremely flexible when it comes to navigating your busy work schedule. With only two months of preparation, I was able to obtain a score good enough to be accepted into Columbia's M.B.A. program. I would have never been able to accomplish this goal without Nirmal.

For round 1, I only applied to HBS and didn't use a consultant. I was well aware of consultants, but felt that I wanted to do the process on my own. I felt that using a consultant would make my application unauthentic. I didn't get in. For round 2, I decided that I needed the help. I did my research, was paired up with Andy, and couldn't have been happier with the outcome. I was admitted to Stanford and Wharton. Andy was incredibly helpful in crafting my story. To my surprise, my application did not lose any authenticity. In fact, I felt like Andy was able to help me better tell my own story and ultimately helped give my application depth and personality. I picked Andy because of his experience in writing and editing, and it paid off. He always gave great edits and feedback in a very timely manner. I really can't say enough positive things about Andy and the help that he gave me. He's a great guy and a great consultant. Coming from someone who consciously decided not to use a consultant for Round 1, the truth is in the facts. I was dinged on my own with HBS and was 2/2 with Andy's help.

In October, I decided to apply to business school. I knew I would need to stay focused, organized and motivated in order to meet the R2 deadlines for four schools. I also knew that I was a subpar writer and lacked confidence in marketing myself at the level that top business schools often expect. I discovered Andy, who graciously took on the task of helping me with my resume and essays. I really enjoyed working with Andy, because he offers direct and honest feedback. If a topic would not work, he would say so rather than spending time trying to make it work. Additionally, Andy is incredibly responsive. He has a 24-hour response goal, but he was always able to turnaround my essays ahead of this goal. Lastly, Andy is VERY patient. There were many times when I really struggled to connect the essay prompt with a good story, but Andy did not give up on me by just telling me what to do. Instead, Andy offered constant guidance as I slowly worked through idea after idea after idea and version after version after version of the same essay. Even as the R2 deadlines were fast approaching, Andy stayed available and supportive to the point where I started an essay three days before the deadline (not recommended) and was still able to get a strong essay together with a day to spare! In the end, results speak for itself, as I will now be attending my dream school - Wharton!

Josh worked miracles with me. I had tried self-guided GMAT prep a couple of times on my own to limited success, but it wasn’t until working with Josh that I really felt the unlock. His targeted approach to prep through personalized and specific skill-building, in addition to live problem sets and virtual coaching with tips and tricks, was extremely effective in a short amount of time. He got me way past my target score I have recommended him to many of my peers and will continue to do so — can’t speak highly enough of him as a tutor!

My very first meeting with Nirmal gave me a glimpse of what was to come, and I quickly learned that tutoring was not just a project on the side for him, rather something that he was fully committed to. Like many graduate school hopefuls, I was filled with anxiety about the GRE before I even started studying. Unlike many graduate school hopefuls, however, I wasn't merely re-familiarizing myself with concepts learned in high school, but actually learning some of those foundational concepts for the first time. Nirmal moved far beyond explaining my errors as I worked through problems– we broke problems down step by step, he identified my particular needs, and came up with different ways of teaching me certain concepts (including playing some very interesting games that somehow made it all stick). His personal attention coupled with his gentle and caring nature, made every session worth it. Nirmal, words can't express how grateful I am that you stayed with me throughout this process. No matter what happens next, you were the rope that pulled me up to the top of my Mt. Everest.

Nirmal truly is the ideal instructor. I can't imagine a better blend of enthusiasm, intelligence and compassion in a tutor. When I was working with him it was impossible to avoid his excitement for reaching every next level. Beyond simple test prep, Nirmal also provided me with an excellent dose of perspective and insight that dramatically improved my confidence to do well on the test. He guided me from a score of 560 on my first practice GMAT to my final score of 760; a score I easily could have beaten with the instruction he gave me. Thank you again Nirmal!

I had an ambitious goal in mind: get a 750+ on the GMAT in 5 weeks. After taking a standard issue bootcamp course I was stuck in the low 700 range and confused as to what I was doing wrong. I re-read all the materials. I did thousands of questions. I summoned the test gods. Nothing worked. All of the prepackaged materials and guidance in the bootcamp course weren't working because they were just that – prepackaged materials and guidance. A friend recommended I try his tutor, so I picked up the phone and called Nirmal. My first practice test after meeting with Nirmal I scored a 750. Then a 760. Then a 780. You get the picture. Nirmal has the unique ability to not only prepare you in terms of content and strategy, but also prepare you for test day. He was extremely flexible in terms of meeting location and time and always accommodated my situation. With his help I was able to succeed in my goal. If I could do it again, I would have started straight with Nirmal. He's the absolute best Sherpa to lead you up the GMAT mountain, no matter what your goals.

I wanted to go to business school, but had significant weaknesses in my application and was applying from a really competitive pool. Even though I had a plan on how I could address these weaknesses, I didn't have clarity on how I could position myself in my essays. Andy was pivotal in guiding me through the application process and helping me formulate a strategy that addressed my weaknesses and differentiated me from the rest of the pool at the same time. His passion, dedication, and openness was apparent from our first call and I had no doubt in my mind that we could work together on this. He helped my build upon my strengths and really showcase them in a clear, consistent manner. Prompt responses to draft versions, flexible schedule, late night conversations, and honest feedback were some of the characteristics of Andy's work ethic that made it possible for me gain admission on my first try to Johnson. However, the most crucial strength that Andy has is his demeanor. He realizes how grueling the admissions process is and that most of the applicants are juggling work and other tasks while applying. He managed to be open and honest in his feedback, yet keep my spirits up. And that made all the difference! Andy stuck with me throughout the application process and provided critical feedback/guidance when I was waitlisted. I can't thank him enough for his help and I am absolutely stoked that I'll be joining Johnson in the fall!

Simply put, Nirmal is the ideal tutor. On my first practice GMAT, I achieved a total score of 560. By the time I was done with Nirmal's regimen, a mere 10 lessons under my belt, I scored in my target range and got a 710. I could not have achieved this score without his guidance. His mastery of the material is second to none. However, the true benefit of working with Nirmal is that he understands how to approach different types of learners. His proprietary learning material and the course goals he sets up are tailored to the individual, and if one explanation of a challenging problem does not suffice, he thinks of innovative ways to find a solution. He aligns his efforts directly with the student's and his outgoing nature makes the process not only rewarding but enjoyable. In my opinion, he is the best tutor around.
