I believe Ibrahim is a hidden gem in McMaster as a career coach and even a life coach. I am fortunate to be under his mentorship during my MBA, and I hope to briefly highlight some unique aspects of his coaching approach here. To begin with, Ibrahim has such a caring, and empathetic presence that most students recognize and that initially encourage me to open up to him – something I had initially took a decision not to do in any Academic or Professional setting. Next, as I conveyed my story, objectives, and hopes to Ibrahim, he listened attentively taking in everything I am saying and asking poking questions that sometimes clarifies my own understanding of myself. Additionally, he was very patient with - sometimes - my internal contradictions or lack of resolutions. Ultimately, he takes a bird’s eye view understanding of all of this and tries to bring me back to real life and how I can best utilize my current situation to make the decisions that will get me closer to where I want to be in the future. Noteworthy, I believe the skill to take the birds-eye view and not getting lost in the details and being able – in a timely manner – to move from this generic storytelling to an action plan or particular decisions to be made is very unique. I do highly recommend anyone looking for coaching to benefit from Ibrahim's expertise and the value he brings to his clients.

Sean is an exceptional coach. As a coach, Ibrahim has provided me with endless support in my career path throughout these couple of years in the MBA program. Entering the program, I was unsure of the endpoint and career I wanted in the future, but I knew business and management were the paths I wanted to take to complement my science undergraduate degree. Ibrahim noticed my skill set effortlessly and suggested that my personality and experience would suit the CPG industry, which was an opinion I had never heard before. He also provided a few top contacts for me to network with, where I learned about the CPG industry and helped me set up my resume and profile to attract recruiters in that industry. In my two co-ops I have completed, I was grateful to work at PepsiCo in operations, and for my next term, I will be embarking on a corporate role at Coca-Cola. Overall, without Ibrahim's help, guidance, and constant calls and questions he answered for me, I would not be in this current position. Ibrahim has guided me into opportunities I wouldn't have expected I could be in before starting the MBA!
