I didn't study finance or econ in undergrad, I didn't come from a tech or engineering background. So, how did I break in to VC? About Walter
As a son of immigrants and military veteran, I champion hard work, investing in skillsets, compelling narratives, and a little bit of luck. I served in the US Army after graduating from the United States Military Academy, leading and coaching soldiers and teams of up to 16 for the past several years. As a native Californian, I love anything on the water: surfing, sushi, and swimming in particular.
Why do I coach?
I did not have the same access to information and coaching that many of my peers had to break into elite fields and sectors. Information was found by diving deep into reddit threads, asking a thousand questions to people I wanted to emulate, and a bit of stubbornness. I coach because I want to help others, like me, have the resources to achieve their goals and democratize access to social and economic mobility.
