Talha’s MBA Qualifications
A few years ago, I was staring at a blank essay, wondering how to fit my whole story into 500 words. I wrote the “safe version” first (because that’s what everyone at BCG was doing) and it got me into Wharton and Booth, both with scholarships. But then I decided to use Stanford GSB’s “What Matters Most” essay to actually reflect on my life and where I wanted to take it. What emerged wasn’t designed to impress anyone, but an honest attempt to capture who I am. This June, I wrapped up my unforgettable journey at Stanford. I coach the way I wish I’d been coached: fewer templates, more truth. My goal is to help you find the version of your story that feels most like you, the one that makes the reader feel something real.

About Talha
Pakistani-Canadian living in Brooklyn. Stanford GSB grad, Chief of Staff at a mission-driven digital health startup, and forever an ice-cream enthusiast. I’m passionate about helping people break through the limits they place on themselves, because that’s exactly what I’ve spent my own life learning to do. At Stanford GSB, I explored how storytelling can help people rewrite their own narratives; professionally through my internship on Netflix’s Content Strategy team and personally through my writing projects and the fabled GSB TALK tradition. Before my MBA, I led lululemon’s digital fitness strategy (and supported the apparel business by buying more ABC pants than anyone reasonably should) and spent three years at BCG. At my core, I’m driven by improving the human experience, which is also why I feel so passionately about coaching. It’s been a through-line in my life: helping classmates with homework growing up, mentoring aspiring college and MBA applicants, collaborating with Admissions at UChicago and Stanford GSB, and recruiting the best and brightest at BCG. Outside of work, you’ll find me ranking New York’s best ice-cream spots, saying hi to every dog and bodega cat I pass, learning guitar (badly), or trying to perfect my pilates form after my third coffee of the day.
