About Sriram Varun

Varun Vobilisetty is a Stanford GSB MBA (Class of 2026) and Product Manager at Glean, joining the enterprise admin team full-time after interning there during business school. Before GSB, he built and scaled Samsung's Bixby voice assistant from 100M to 200M users. Before that, he founded and grew the Robotics Club at IIT Kanpur into a world-championship-level humanoid robotics team — his first real lesson in turning ambitious ideas into working systems under pressure. At GSB, he leaned further into the intersection of AI and enterprise product, building several projects, while taking coursework in AI strategy and entrepreneurship. He's also spent his final year deeply embedded in the Stanford AI community — co-organizing Hack-Nation, a global AI hackathon spanning thousands of participants across multiple hubs, and hosting speaker sessions with leaders from Anthropic, Replit, and Glean.

Why do I coach?

I got into GSB because people coached me — read rough drafts, asked questions I hadn't asked myself, and pushed me to explain not just what I'd done but why it mattered. That changed the trajectory of my career, and I've wanted to pay it forward ever since. One of my mentors at Stanford, Professor Graham Weaver, first made the case to me that coaching is a skill, not just a gift — which is part of why I took a class on professional coaching at GSB to actually learn the craft instead of winging it. Coaching applicants is also how I keep that muscle in shape. Helping someone figure out what's actually distinctive in their story, then building the clearest path to communicate it, is product work in a different medium — same instinct, different canvas.
