60+ people coached for MBA
As a graduate of the Full-Time MBA program at the Johnson School at Cornell combined with 5+ years of experience coaching full-time MBA students on career goals and the recruiting processes, my approach to MBA admissions is a little different. Many enter with the goal "I want to get into school X." I prefer to zoom out and ask two simple questions: - What are your short-term MBA career goals? - What type of experience do you want for the duration of the two-year program? Answering these questions honestly will help you better develop a target school list and be able to better articulate in your essays and in the admissions interview why an MBA makes sense for you, ,why that school is the best fit, and what your short and long term career goals are post MBA. There's a lot more to getting a Full-Time MBA than going to the highest ranked school you can get into, because those rankings don't take into account your personal goals and preferences.

About Spencer
Navy Veteran who used a full-time MBA to make the transition to marketing. Interned at Colgate-Palmolive before joining Sling TV in a partner marketing role the year Sling launched as the first OTT live TV service. Highly knowledgeable about veteran transition both with and without an MBA as well as recruiting processes of traditional MBA paths such as investment banking, brand management, consulting, operations, general management, tech, healthcare, real estate, etc. Brings a career-focused lens to admissions consulting, as well as using career goals as a key part of school selection in both where to apply, and ultimately, where to attend.
Why do I coach?
I coach because applying to MBA programs and going through the recruiting processes were a pivotal moment in my life that I embraced because I came from an environment where I had no choice in where I lived or what job I did. Many find the application process stressful, but I found it empowering because I was taking control of my career instead of just staying in the Navy for ten more years to collect a retirement check. I want my clients to embrace the adversity and challenge of the application process, because once you get in, you'll see that the recruiting process is full of highs and lows and its important to keep everything in perspective.
