About Sanam
I’m a healthcare strategy and operations leader who’s passionate about building more equitable, patient-centered systems—and helping the next generation of healthcare professionals achieve their goals. Currently, I work at Oak Street Health, where I focus on improving care delivery for older adults and advancing value-based care models. Prior to this, I held leadership roles at Stanford Health Care, where I served as Manager of Strategic Operations in Ambulatory Care and as an Administrative Fellow reporting to the CEO. Across these roles, I’ve worked with clinical and executive leadership, launched new service lines, led enterprise-wide technology initiatives, and helped shape innovation strategy at top-tier academic medical centers. My work bridges clinical operations, digital health, and organizational strategy—giving me a 360-degree view of what it takes to lead in healthcare today. Alongside my career in health systems, I’ve spent the past five years coaching students through graduate admissions and administrative fellowship recruitment. I’ve helped candidates gain admission to top Master of Health Administration (MHA) and Master of Public Health (MPH) programs, as well as secure offers at leading health systems like Stanford Health Care, UC San Diego Health, and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Whether someone is applying to grad school or trying to land a competitive early-career role, I bring the same focused, strategic approach: helping each client clarify their story, elevate their impact, and confidently navigate high-stakes opportunities. I’ve walked this path myself—from Cal Poly to Columbia University to healthcare leadership—and I’m committed to helping others do the same.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I know what it feels like to be capable but unsure of how to break into the next level. I’ve been there—and I’ve been lucky to have mentors who saw potential in me before I fully saw it in myself. Their guidance helped shape my path into healthcare leadership, and I want to do the same for others. For me, coaching is about more than just polishing an application or prepping for an interview. It’s about helping people recognize and lean into their strengths—especially those who may not come from traditional backgrounds or who haven’t had someone in their corner before. I help clients bring clarity to their story, build confidence in their voice, and approach each step with strategy and intention. Whether it’s landing a competitive fellowship, getting into grad school, or making a career pivot in healthcare, I coach because I believe everyone deserves access to the kind of support that can truly change their trajectory.
