About Samay

After Cornell undergrad, I went to straight to McKinsey in Chicago. Served clients across a range of industries for 3 years where I was heavily involved in campus (“target”) and office recruiting. I’ve been involved with and lead both campus attraction and interview preparation at different stages. I’m well-versed in what McKinsey (and other consulting firms) look for in candidates and I’m eager to help you achieve your goals. Originally from Singapore, I have worked with students from around the world. My coaching experience started as a tutor and TA at Cornell where I focussed on Financial Accounting. Since then, I’ve worked with several students, both professionally and personally, to navigate their aspirations and successfully make a step towards the path of their choosing. I am passionate about supporting individuals regardless of their background, and can be flexible to support your needs (even through tough time zones!). Get in touch and let’s get to work.

Why do I coach?

I coach because I believe that it is a natural extension of my passion for mentoring and supporting others. Over the years, I have had the privilege of coaching and mentoring many individuals, and I’ve found that there is nothing more rewarding than witnessing their growth and success. I love watching someone hear about a concept for the first time, embrace it, and then excel with it. My journey has been significantly shaped by the incredible coaches who have supported and guided me along the way — including some I have met through Leland. Their influence has been instrumental in my personal and professional development, and I understand firsthand how invaluable it is to have someone in your corner. This experience has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the coaching process and the profound difference it can make.
