My name is Rhea Soltau, and I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a practicing critical care pharmacist, residency preceptor, educator, researcher, and lifelong advocate for the pharmacy profession. But before I became a practicing pharmacist, I was an overwhelmed yet determined pharmacy school applicant—and then a pharmacy student—trying to balance the demands of school, new motherhood, and a strong ambition to build a meaningful career. I know firsthand how exciting, overwhelming, and sometimes uncertain the pharmacy journey can feel. There are countless decisions along the way: How do I make my application stand out? How do I prepare for an interview? Should I pursue residency? What type of pharmacist do I want to become? How do I find the right opportunities—and ultimately build a career that fits the life I want? Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to mentor pharmacy students, residents, and pharmacists as they navigate these same questions and some of the biggest decisions in their careers—from getting into pharmacy school and securing a residency to finding the right clinical role and figuring out what comes next.
