Paul’s Medical School Qualifications

10+ people coached for Medical School

Hello, my name is Paul, and I am a fourth-year medical student at California University of Science and Medicine. My path to medical school was anything but perfect. I had a low GPA, struggled with the MCAT, and even failed a class during undergrad. More than once, I was told by advisors to consider a different career and to let go of the dream. I didn’t. Instead, I learned how to rebuild my application, tell my story honestly, and turn setbacks into strengths. That journey led to multiple medical school acceptances. If you feel stuck, discouraged, or unsure how to move forward as a premed, you are not alone. If you are questioning whether medical school is still possible for you, I have been exactly where you are. I now coach premed students who feel overlooked or underestimated and help them create a clear, realistic admissions plan that fits their situation. If my story resonates with you, I would love to help you turn doubt into direction and get you one step closer to becoming a medical student.

About Paul

Hi! I'm Paul and I'm a medical student at California University of Science and Medicine. I started undergrad at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) where I majored in Cell, Molecular, and Developmental Biology. After two years at UCR, I decided to transfer to UCLA where I graduated with a B.Sc. in Molecular, Cell, & Developmental Biology. Upon graduating, I worked a variety of jobs from research, COVID testing, and as a medical scribe in the emergency department. I decided to continue on my premed journey, enrolling at California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM) in their Masters of Biomedical Science (MBS) program. From there, I applied to medical school and was ultimately accepted to CUSM's MD program. I am now in my fourth year of medical school, applying for emergency medicine residency.

Why do I coach?

I coach because I remember what it felt like to doubt myself while still holding onto the dream. I remember the anxiety of seeing low grades, the frustration of retaking exams, and the weight of being told by advisors that medical school might not be realistic for me. What I lacked at the time was someone who truly understood the process and believed that setbacks did not define my future. Everything changed once I learned how to approach admissions strategically rather than emotionally. I realized that success was not about being perfect, but about being intentional, resilient, and honest about my journey. Now, I coach to be the mentor I wish I had. I work with students who are hardworking, capable, and passionate, but unsure how to move forward after academic challenges or self doubt. Helping students turn confusion into clarity and fear into confidence is what drives me. If my story resonates with you, I would be honored to support you as you take the next step toward becoming a medical student.
