I’ve spent the past 15+ years investing in and working closely with high-growth companies across venture capital, growth equity, and private equity. I spent more than a decade at Felicis Ventures, where I was a General Partner and helped back and support companies from their earliest stages through significant scale. Over the course of my venture career, I’ve invested more than $400 million across 40+ companies, served on 20+ boards, and worked alongside founders through more than 100 financings and many of the major decisions that come with building a company. My experience spans fundraising, company strategy, board management, hiring, M&A, and navigating the inevitable ups and downs of startup life. I’ve had the opportunity to work with exceptional founders across many different industries and stages, and to see firsthand what separates companies that build enduring momentum from those that struggle. Today, I work directly with a small number of venture-backed founders, primarily around fundraising and capital strategy, while also serving as a broader strategic thought partner on the challenges that come with building a high-growth venture-backed company. I live in Manhattan Beach, California with my wife and three young kids. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me playing tennis, coaching my kids' sports teams, or spending time at the beach.

Why do I coach?
The part of venture investing I’ve always enjoyed most is working directly with founders. Building a company can be incredibly rewarding, but it also creates a constant stream of high-stakes decisions. Fundraising in particular can feel opaque and stressful. Founders are trying to run their businesses while simultaneously figuring out how investors will perceive the company, how to tell the story, whom to approach, what feedback to listen to, and how to navigate a process they may only run a handful of times in their careers. I’ve spent much of my career on the investor and board side of those conversations. What I found most fulfilling was helping founders think through the difficult moments: sharpening a fundraising story before going to market, working through a consequential strategic decision, navigating a board issue, or simply having someone independent to call when they wanted to pressure-test their thinking. I enjoy taking the experience and pattern recognition I’ve accumulated over thousands of investor conversations and many years of working alongside founders to help clients reach their full potential. My goal is to be a candid, trusted thought partner who can help a founder see around corners, make better decisions, and feel exceptionally prepared when the stakes are highest.
