About Michelle
Hi there! My name is Michelle and I'm a current senior at UCLA studying Business Economics, with a Value Investing Concentration. I grew up in Hong Kong for 12 years before moving to the Bay Area. During high school, I was heavily involved in competitive debate - an interest that led me to explore consulting clubs at UCLA. I navigated the typical consulting versus investment banking decision, and have interned in consulting, investment banking, and private equity over my college years. I found consulting to be a path that would fit my strengths and interests most. While I have experience recruiting for various industries, my main expertise lies in recruiting for MBB and T2 consulting firms, which is where I hope to be of help! Outside of school and work, I love staying active (whether it be weightlifting, swimming, running or bouldering), cooking (my friends and I host a mini tasting menu every quarter), and being involved with my church and fellowship.
Why do I coach?
Coaching is very personal to me, as I owe my success to several close mentors and case buddies who have been instrumental in helping me through my first consulting club interview, my internship processes, and my full-time recruiting. I've found that much of what is taught online is often not tailored to you as a person and a thinker, and I believe there is much value in having someone in your corner you can trust to be candid, constructive, and encouraging as you go through a possibly stressful and convoluted process. I don't think there is a one-size-fits-all method to recruiting, and I'd love to be part of your journey to find what is most conducive to your success in whatever you choose to pursue!
